Under Flickrs T's & C's if posting on a forum there must be a direct link to the uploaders image on Flickr itself, hence the blue links.

I'm not familiar with Flikr but I found this on their help menu;

Where is the HTML code and photo file link?

The HTML code to embed a photo in a web page that you used to find on the All Sizes page is now only in the Share menu on the photo, to the left of the More menu. We now also include BBCode! (standard message board code)

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

The direct link to a photo file is no longer shown on the page. Per the Flickr Community Guidelines "pages on other websites that display content hosted on flickr.com must provide a link from each photo or video back to its page on Flickr." Linking directly to the photo file doesn't do this.

Buggered if I could find the 'Share' menu though. Or the 'More' menu for that matter.

Is it possible to embed video from Vimeo, as opposed to Youtube?
(Uploading to Youtube seems to entail having a G+ account these days, which I don't much want.)

yes, it seems so! I copied the web address for the video and pasted it into word on the editor.

copy and pasting the link into the reply box seems to work also :)

That was easier than expected! :)

I may have somehow missed the answer in the OP but I am struggling to add a YouTube link into my post so that when posted it shows as the YouTube starting screen which you simply click on the play.

Like this (post #1)...

Every time I do it I can only copy the link to the YouTube site. I click the link from the 'Share' box in YouTube and have tried pasting it into the image box, the link box and directly into the post - no joy.

What am I doing wrong!?

You need to change https: in the video link to http:

The only difference in the below two links, are the s
