Rear disc problem

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to fix the problem in the pic? Both rear discs are the same. Been like that for ages but doesn't seem to be a problem when driving but looks ugly.Might strip them down and re lube everything today so any tips would be great! Thanks in advance.

Replace discs and pads easy way-out.

If same as my 2005 Fabia VRS go to E-Bay and pay around £30 all-in for new rear disc & pads ..

I renew mine every 2/3 years so cheap to do, but having wind-back tool is a must, for DIY.

Trouble is in the main, very little braking takes place at the rear, hence rusts takes over.

My tendency occasionally is to find a piece of open road, get your speed up and very gently click the handbrake up 1/2 clicks max, for a few seconds, then release.

An alarm will trigger off as you do so, but will mute once, you again release the hand-brake.

Getting surface-coated discs (eg Black Diamonds or some Audi discs) would reduce the tendancy for rust to form in the grooves. The peripheral rust happens to most discs eventually, and can't really be cleaned off.
