There's a thread somewhere here which even has tube vids you can hear the sound of resonator delete. I doubt it would invalidate any warranty as this is mainly for the acoustics and nothing else. There might be a small back pressure drop due to lessened turbulence and higher exhaust gas velocities reaching the muffler but Iwould not hold my breath for any more ponies :).

No, I have not done it. I'd personaly love to have a straight pipe, around 3" diameter, coming from the turbo and discharging at the back if you asked me

The MDI is good but unless you have satnav it's a pain to operate. Even with the Amundsen screen it's not great, it's much easier with the bigger Columbus screen.

Most other manufacturers including Skoda are now fitting big screens for infotainment even if you don't have satnav, I hope they do this on the Mk3.

I'm not also convinced with touch screen only control, using your left hand to select options isn't great especially if you have to lean forward a little. I like the BMW idrive controller and Audi's MMi a lot better as they are to hand while sat comfortably in the car and you haven't got to try and hit a small target on a screen.

Cheers

Yes, I've seen the thread. Also did a bit of searching to find out more. Just was curious if you had done it yourself.

Although a nicer note is something I would love, my head is telling me not to modify my car. That's why a nicer note as standard would be preferable.

I made some inquiries a while back into a Milltek cat-back and revo stage 1 map. But in the ever present battle of head vs heart, head won. :nerd:

Ha Ha Ha, I am in the same boat mate. No point in buying 5-year warranty to void it within a year :). Even if sometinhg like exhust modification wouldn't void the warranty it would cerainly provide a nice hook to hang their hats on if it came to arguing about failed turbo ;). I drove it 1 June at Bedford West Circuit and unless running gear is substantially upgraded it is not able to handle any more speed in OEM state.

Also, "green" engines should not be modified, no race tuner will touch a new block for a reason.
