Featured Replies

I've been recommended most of my cleaning products by members on here!

But there is Just one more product Im looking for!

A good long-lasting tyre dressing

Can anyone recommend one?

Gtechniq t1 is realy good long lasting and can aply for either dull black or a glossy black with a second coat. Just make sure you leave car stood still for a hour or so after aplying otherwise youlll get black spots all over freshly cleaned car.

Good work, and the drive looks awesome with those two sat on it!

I use Auto Glym tyre dressing, Ispray it onto an old bit of sponge and wipe on. Dead easy. Spraying direct onto the tyre just seems to get it everywhere.

Apply two weeks running after washing the car and it seems to build up and look better for longer. Then just a top up now and then.

Leaves a very wet black look. Cannot say if its better than anything else as its the only product I've used on tyres. Apart from spray on generic stuff in a can, which compared is crap.

Be worth looking / asking in the cleaning / detaining section you'll get loads of tips in there.

This is what pne coat of g1 looks like.

Autosmart Highstyle.

Its expensive but lasts forever, even on wet roads. Don't get it on your driveway though!

Meguiars endurance tyre shine for me. Works well, and don't get any flick off when driving.

Turtle wax wet n black applied with a sponge and allowed to dry works well for me. No pic right now sorry

Didn't stop the birds taking a dump on it though :p I would like to point out as a bad omen, the same happened to me yesterday. In almost exactly the same spot, I think I was followed!

X2 I only use meguiars cleaning products where I can, make sure u get the applicator to match as it makes it very easy to apply

Is there such a thing as a long lasting tyre gel???

I know for a fact any oil based dressing on tyres is a major no no!! Megs endurance is brutal on tyres.

Cant stand super shiny tyres either looks false.

go for a water based one wont harm the rubber either.

Something like

Zaino Z16

Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel

optimum opti bond tire gel

poorboys bold and bright

This is Zaino Z16 x2 coats

I've used meguiars endurance tyre gel for years and use it every week when I wash the car and doesn't appear to be any signs of harm to the tyre?

Meguiars tyre gel also doesn't look super shiny but makes the tyres look new. Personally I love 99% of their products, I used to use auto glym as for years my uncle always used to highly recommend it but since iv used meguiars I would never use auto glym again

Megs looks good, I use it, but its far from long wearing. :)

X3 or is it x4 - Have always been impressed with this stuff.

Try nielsons brilliance..... Epic stuff, but hard to get hold of.

I have nearly 30 tyre products to choose from so I'm giving advice from lots of products.

Poorboys bold and bright is great for summer use and very easy to apply.

Optimum is also a good one that is very underated in the UK, and an off the shelf one that is better than expected is Autoglyms tyre dressing.

But the biggest thing is down to the type of sidewall your tyres have, ribbed (oooh), patterned (ala Continental's) or smooth. Some respond better to a gel applied and then buffed to a sheen because they are too smooth for many products to adhere to.

I've actually used autosmart tango on some really smooth sidewalls for a really nice none glossy clean sheen look.
