  • Incidentally the guys who did my wrapping yesterday (the Leeds branch of the Totally Dynamic franchise) were extremely impressed by the build quality of the Yeti. Actually, that's not really true - th

  • Maybe someone with a black Yeti would want them?

  • Irrespective of what it looks like, I have to say I'm impressed with your skills MarieK.

The body colour middle pillar (to me) is one of the features of the design.

It leaves you with a wrap around darkened rear screen and a wrap around front clear screen.

Personally prefer it like that.

Decals have arrived, just need the car now

FYI, the black ones are solid black, no gradation.

Ok so here's a quick mock-up of how I think the black decals will look

However I'm wondering if it may look better cut near the front wheel arch like this:

Think I may have preferred them with a gradient of colour though :wonder:

Marie, I think you can get away with the "solid black" decal on a white Yeti, but prefer the second photo application. My Yeti is Pacific blue and was going to order the silver coloured decal, but if it is solid as you say I don,t think it would look right, I think I will Email them to see if all the decals are of solid type, as I prefer the graduation type for my Yeti.

I now think the 'grey white' option may be the graded one but best to check with them.

Personally I won't have used that blinged Yeti to look at what yours will look like... A you won't have the silver strips on the valance and B you will (hopefully) not have the B-pillar black bits nor C the Annapurna alloys or D the fender flares...

But I agree the second decal (with the rounded front bit) looks much better. I think because the decal was designed to fade from nothing here to a colour at the back is the reason why it starts so far forward. But now being all black it does look a bit awkward.

The blinged yeti pic was the easiest way to do a mock up because it already had the decal on it.

How's this:

Much more representative! (Albeit still with Annapurnas!) :giggle:

Yes I did notice that but its not about the alloys :giggle:

Sorry, not to my eye, Marie. The wide solid decal, added to the existing strip, upsets the tonal balance - the new heavy lower quarter is now competing with the dark windows above. It's also introducing a 'stripeyness' that is a bit reminiscent of an older Pajero, perhaps. JMO

That looks better.

I like it but isn't that exhaust on the wrong side?

LOL "someone" mirrored the Yeti to be RHD from the original LHD press shot with Czeck number plates. LOL (note the extra long original aerial as well! Not seen one of them in ages.)

It was mirrored so that the yeti decal wouldn't be mirrored/back to front when I layered it in photoshop :giggle:

PS Its not about the exhaust

 This looks better, more balanced with the door bumper strip

Not so keen on the solid look I think the graduated original looked much better.

The cut down solid looks the better of the two mock ups to my eye.

Ok, at no expense spared I've got the decal on the original yeti image

They didn't take long to arrive, somewhere on their website it said it could take up to 30 days.

Yes I would say just the decals are enough to personalise it, and they look better with them trimmed at the front.

With that one it looks better starting at the front wheel, well to me it looks better, :wait: I'll ask the boss. no I have made a decision I'm right :giggle: .

oh the mirrors looks good but please say no to black b pillars

Have just had an e/mail back from the Guys in Estonia and all the Yeti side decals are solid not graduated.HTH

Marie at #71: That's better - it doesn't go to a dead black and the overall tone is lighter. It avoids the 'liquorice allsort' effect.

But you say that you've already got the black ones, so stop worrying and just enjoy! A Yeti is great in almost any form
