Making a big level boot

Featured Replies

Hello to all

May there be someone who has done this similar boot levelling.

I am soon to be owning a new S Trim Yeti, hopefully next 3 weeks or so.

Chosen because I need more boot space for carp fishing gear and an anchored dog cage, plus I like the

chunky SUV styling and the efficient small 1.2 TSI.

I shall be removing the rear seats more or less permanently.

I have the spare wheel option.

What I shall be looking to do is make a complete flat floor

right up to the driver and passenger seat, some sort of

light timber filling joists with thin quarter inch plyboard surface on top.

Has anyone done anything similar and can give their ideas.

Kind Regards

I could post a photo of our Octavia which has a 1/2 sheet of 100mm thick "Kingspan" expanded polyurathane in the boot.

Leaves an absolutly flat floor with the folded down back seats.

I have slept on it fine, which is why it was installed.

The seats can still be used even with the Kingspan in-situ.

Lifted a party of 3 from the airport on Thursday, Kingspan still in place.

I shall perhaps patent my idea.

Obviously wonderfully light to lift in and out.

Can be cut with any sort of saw blunt or sharp.

Could perhaps consider getting it shrink-wrapped to seal the exposed edges.

Other than that

Perfect!
