In mysecs a lap perience, half the track performance comes down to tyre choice. I don't think I would have been so far ahead at Bedford on road rubber.... Grip of Kumho V70A in the dry is immense

This is very true! At Oulton the v70 tyre should give you around 3-4 sec a lap advantage over road tyres.

However I will be on road tyres as i got fed up carrying 4 spare wheels and swoping them over every track day.

It should do, especially the RARB. I'll have new tyres on by then. If I can lose a few stone by then it will help

indeed, still not run in 2,300 miles and climbing though! I also learned not to throw it into corners too fast with reckless abandon (thanks to some of pete's (skudvrs) help after he had tuition) I now know that the "smooth" way is the fastest (if not the most fun!lol) but as you know Boss (with your "incident" lol, a bit of reckless abondon IS fun )

I think I had about 4,000 miles on the Yeti before its first track session at Castle Combe when it was seven weeks old.

It runs like a dream now!

I still consider myself new to track driving, only having around 40 mins at Castle Combe in total. I'm doing it to learn more about different tracks. It's nice Castle Combe is fairly local to me, shame I can't track at Pembrey but I'm guessing Oulton will be a lot better.
