October Track day @ Oulton Park Tuesday 8th October

Featured Replies

OK, I have sent an email to Javelin, we have 9 confirmed and paid, if Sharkrider decides to join us we have the perfect 10! I have asked for 2 garages as we haven't made the full amount of cars, lets see what happens now.

I have also asked for discount on instructors if anybody is wanting one? I will have details off Colin at Javelin.

Only 60 odd days to go !!!!

 For Info:

Oulton park has a petrol pump on site, not sure about diesel although there is a filling station not too far away. Food is available in the cafeteria and all other mod cons like toilets!!!

I am trying to convince a mate of mine to attend as our official Photographer, he is retired and is a pro togger, rather than being charged a fortune by the resident photographer for pictures.

I'll retrun the Beford favour if you like and he can hoon the Fabia around the place to get his eye in :)

Thanks for offer Pasty!!  I am sure he will be in his element all day, he is itching to drive the track as he missed the February day I had because of work and he did attend the How Fast as a passenger with me but of course thinks he can do better!!

Speaking of Bedford, what are the dates for next years how fast???

Thinking about it the Fabia will probably be a less hospitable learner car than the Golf.

Heavy front end, snappy RARB'd rear end, "just" 2WD :) the offer is there though

I don't think MSV confrim dates too far ahead, and certainly won't have a clue when the dates are for next year yet.

I'll probably do similar to this year and get in touch with MSV early in the year to confirm a date around the same end of May/Early June time as previous events.

Colin has got back to me about an instructor for us, instead of offering a discount per person he is offering us the exclusive use of an ARDS instructor for the full day! A small amount of money for an individual to pay for a whole lot of knowledge to be passed on, maybe we could scare him to death!!

here is Colin's email, let me know if £18 each is too much or a worthy investment?

Hi Jamie,

I will still throw in the 3 Garages, I appreciate you are putting quite a bit of effort into this.

An Instructor session booked individually  is normally £20 for 20 mins.  For £180 I could arrange for your group to have exclusive use of an ARDS Instructor all day for  In car guidance, group talks etc.

Kind Regards

Colin

I'm happy to pay £18 for a fair amount of tuition for me. :)

Heres hoping we get more than me and you Jase as it will be £90 each lol

I'm also interested in tuition. Knowlage is everything .

Assume a 10 hour day on track and we all get an hour with him rather than 20 minutes for less money its a no brainer surely....

Yes, I was hoping for at least two complete sessions on circuit for the money - say half an hour at most, and then perhaps later in the day blag some more time to see if what he (or she?!) thinks about the new lines.

Sounds great does that.

Glad I didn't book a session of instruction already. We shall see how it all sorts out I guess.

I've already paid for tuition, would I get £2 back.

The instructor at Bedford made a massive difference for me. And for sharkrider think we managed to shave 3 seconds off his time.

Well worth the money.

Yes, if you have paid for tuition I am sure you would get back your £2 and in return get a much longer session with the instructor, as long as Jason doesn't scare him to death!

, as long as Jason doesn't scare him to death!

I have a feeling I am not going to be as scary as some the instructor might have sat alongside....

probably not, I will be adopting the usual track day sequence of events, check out cars in paddock, go to briefing, leave briefing, allow most cars to go out and then watch who drives what and which manner, spot the loon! Then go on track when said loon is in the pits!  Everybody is happy!

I'm up for the tuition. How will it work if we have additional drivers?

In the same manner if we are on our own!

I would suggest the £180 for the tutor for the whole day then we should split the cost amongst those who want to use him.

 £180 / 10 = £18 each if only 5 want to use him as often as possible it will be £180 / 5 = £36 each.

Whatever we decide I need to let Justin know asap, I guess he will need paying in advance but I will ask about payment on the day to avoid the money transfer and all that palaver..

Fair enough. Well you can put me down for tuition. Might have another but will only know closer the time.

Can I suggest we update the list with the people who wants tuition?

I think tuition interested parties from what I can tell above includes

1 - faboka vrs

2 - James I

3 - devonutopia

4 - skud vrs

5 - hardcorehobbit

6 - pastyboy

7 - mr rooney

I would think Bossfox would snap up the chance too, as would the mate "Jason Ingham" mentioned above?  So that's 9 so at most looking at £20 each.

The instructor is going to have a busy day lol!!

and so he should be £180 for 8 hours work!

hmmm if he's an instructor for the day, i might be interested in that too, as skud said, a little tuition knocked 3 seconds off my "how fast" time! :o

coincide that with the removal of your chocolate tyres and you are a winner!  Book it, you know you want to....

only about £22.50 an hour £46,800 a year, a below average wage if you believe all you read..   :bandit:

Jason Ingham does not want the ARDS instructor so it down to just us guys from Brisky.
