So the fabia vrs is the new saxo vts, what is the new fabia vrs?

Featured Replies

I do see the OP point.

Hell you can pick up Audi R8's for 35k now... making them the Saxo VTS of the supercar world.

I love my Fabia I do

  • I still dont think they have the mass appeal. Going to a few meets I can count the number of fabia's, even skodas for that matter, on one hand usually amongst 100's. They still arnt mainstream or may

Bit off topic but you must be local to me mate. I recognise that car park, it's Flood Street Dudley isn't it?

You might have seen my friends car there a few times, black, anthracite wheels, private plate?

yeah thats defo flood street me and alot of my mates go there

mines a slammed yellow vrs with black std alloys

I bought my fabia purely beacause there wasnt many about here in colchester i can only think of seein maybe 3 or 4 modified ones here since i owned for me the new saxo vts has to be the mk1 focus rs well around these areas anyways 4 friends havee them its mad to think there a limited edition car i would say there all limited to colchester ha ha

Yeah its flood street ;)

I try to say hello to other Fabia owners but they seem not to like being near their own cars lol.

SP04 ring any bells ? Its yellow, black alloys, big mouth.

Not really. But ill look out for you lot next time.

My mates is a black one, VR51FLY.

Mines a standard silver 04 plate.

We normally go in his as mines a tad out of place :)

Wait, are you all saying the vRS is now a chavs car? :D

Who actually cares whether it's a chav car, I don't.

I'm not a chav and I don't want to be a chav and my car certainly won't make me one, so it doesn't really matter if it's considered a chav car :)

Has your mate had it long?

No, a couple of months I think. He swapped his DC2 for it with a guy from Stratford.

That would be Kevin he swapped with then.

It's my old car.

Oh right :)

Well it's still going strong. He looks after his cars so its in good hands. I think he has racked up about 5k in it already.

Any idea if the turbo has ever been changed?

Not while I had it or before to my knowledge.

I had it for 4 years near enough.

Was mapped when I bought it, I had the clutch and dmf done,

also did the bigger brakes conversion and suspension, and the wheel refurb.

Cam belt and waterpump were also done while I had it.

It's fair to say that while I had it no expense was spared as I'm sure others

on here will confirm.

I got the feeling the guy I sold it to didn't look after it so well.

All I got from him were non stop questions which I answered fully time

and time again. Even when he put the car up for sale he was back in touch

asking me what had been done to the car (for the umpteenth time)

I more or less wrote his for sale ad for him.

All I can tell you about it's time with him was that

He claims to have had it serviced after he bought it (It was due one)

I think he started to mod it further (egr delete) and it caused some

mpg problems so he wanted to get shot I'm sorry to say.

Oh and someone drove into it and smashed the drivers side mirror off.

Yeah it's currently got an unpainted mirror cover on the drivers side and a mark on the rear quarter which was probably from that. Lucky the cars black as it doesn't look too out of place really.

It's still got the egr delete which has threw a cel up. The mpg seems great. It's better than mine.

Don't suppose you know who mapped it do you? I think he would be interested in knowing.

I really haven't a clue, I had it rolling roaded and got figures of 181bhp and 297lb/ft

so I'd say it's right on the limit of what a standard clutch and dmf can take.

If I'd have kept it I'd have had it re remapped at Shark performance as their maps have

a reputation for smoothness.

Being honest, not long after I got the car I was a bit over zealous and the clutch and dmf needed

replacing because I was unfamiliar with tuned TDIs. Once I learned how to drive it properly

I had no issues with that. Oh and I put the big shiny blueflame exhaust on there as well.

All interesting stuff. Thank you. All of the mods are still on there :)

Am I right in saying it has cupra wishbone bushes too?

I just spoke to him and that Kevin claimed to know everything about the car when he clearly didn't :giggle:. Never mind its been fine so far and he goes here there and everywhere in it for work. All its needed is a boost hose.

No, it has mark 2 octy bushes on there.

Also known as 4 web bushes, I had them done too

so unless he had new ones fitted in the 6 or so months he

kept the car i doubt that.

I very much doubt it. Thanks again for the info. Always good to get some background :)

I remember reading all his clueless threads - always about the same thing!

I often thought to myself that it was a great car you'd sold and now it had gone to waste. Sounds as though it's been given a new lease of life though :)

  • 2 months later...

He's been in touch with me about swapping for my DC2! :D I'm seriously considering it!

Small world! :)

It's a nice car. He went and got a skoda satnav from a guy on here recently so it's got a fair few nice bits that others won't have.

Cruise, ESP ect

Cool!

And reading this thread it's good to know a bit of history behind the car

My so called "dead cert sale" has backed off bloody time wasters! so I've been back in touch about the fabia :)

It will never be the new saxo vts as they are too slow, French and boring

^ Because you obv know your cars... a Saxo VTS isnt slow, nor is boring.
