Yeti on its way... but

Featured Replies

Hi I am picking up my Yeti on Saturday. it is an ex demo Elegance TDI 4x4 DSG... Very very excited

I asked the dealer about extended warranty and the dealer quoted me £599 for extending the warranty by two years to 3years. My issue with this is another dealer on another Yeti quoted considerably less. So my question is this, 1) do I have to buy the extended warrant at the same time as I pickup the car? 2) do I have to buy from the same dealer where I bought my car?

You get 3 years Skoda warranty from date of first registration.

Great choice of car - Auto Express No.1 in their survey.

How many miles on it?

Glad you found BRISKODA - a mine of useful info and people to answer your every query.

Best to join & pay the £12 so you can ask any questions without feeling guilty for getting it all for free.

It's saved me loads of time and money especially on diy projects.

Let us know how you get on with your Yeti - welcome to BRISKODA.

As the car is already registered and a demo it can't have the "proper" 5 year warranty that covers you like the original 3 year one.

This has to be added to the order when it's new.

What you are buying is an extended warranty from a dealer, like something Car Plan or Warrantywise sell.

You can buy it anywhere.

I bought exactly the same Yeti a couple of weeks ago. Excellent choice.

Why would you be interested in extended warranty? My demo model is

3 months old and so still has the remainder of the standard 3 years warranty remaining.

Can't see the point in paying large amounts up front for something you may want in a

few years time!

Ah, no idea why I thought it only had 12 months warranty when new. Silly me. No further warranty needed then!!

The car is 9 months old with 6000 miles...

Welcome Staffa, look forward to seeing some photos j:yes:

By the way, asked about a two bar, dealer quoted me £800!! What are they made off? Saffron and gold??

Will definitely make use of this forum (and the £12 membership) and fit it myself...

Hello and welcome! Excellent choice of model. Lots of threads about towbars here, and especially about the associated electrics. I suggest you have a look round first (unless someone else can suggest a starting point?) and then come back with any particular questions. Several regular caravan/trailer users here.

Yup my towbar cost £834 fitted by Allams of Epsom... And alas it is not made of gold.

(Quickly....While we're off topic.)

I see on the Skoda website that they offer ," Towbar,Removable and Lockable." for £400.

Is this everything you need Ex-factory,or am I missing something? :wonder:

The secretaries that run SUK finally realised that in Europe people can get a Yeti with an ACTUAL towbar fitted in the FACTORY. Many thousands of people had to explain this to them though... So you can now get this ex-factory instead of paying £800 plus for the real deal as fitted by the dealer's agent. Only took them since 2009 to figure out what this option was.

Ignore.

Johann has given a better answer as I'd forgotten that!!

Doh.

For various reasons, "peace of mind" was a major part of the overall purchase decision for us. Ours was a 3 month old demo car and we added 2 yrs to the OEM, giving 5 years, done through the dealer with Skoda Assistance for ITRO of £500, and certificated.

Maybe this is something different, or the vehicle was differently registered, not sure. SUK do say here that that an extended warranty is only available on new vehicles at the time of ordering, so a bit of a puzzle:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/warranty/extended-warranty/reasons-to-extend-your-cover

We've extended the warranty on our 3 year old Superb 170 4x4 - £399 for 2 years, with CarCarePlan (ie. genuine Skoda warranty, issued through main dealer)

Al.
