SPRC Summer Nationals - Santa Pod.

Featured Replies

Been up at the 'Pod this weekend. My Girlfriend is in the VW Drag Racing Club. She normally races her 21 Window Splitty, but as that was being a pain in the *rse she raced my Fabia vRS....

It's ET drag racing, so it's not heads up... but she was consistent all weekend, and ended up as runner-up in the class... she lost the final by 'breaking out' she dialled in a 16.5 and ended up running a 16.2 (not that I minded, cos that's the best the cars run down the strip!)

The car generated a fair bit of interest considering it's bone stock! :D

I'm one VERY happy Rainking!

Nothing major... it just wasn't 100% race worthy (we didn't feel) the clutch is slipping (a bodged release bearing) and the carb linkage is sticking... (again, the wrong one been bodged to fit!) and there's a slight oil leak. With it being a proper race meeting, with over 250 cars running, we didn't wanna risk the bus causing an oil down, or stoppage... so went with the Skoda.

Quite pleased with the result too, 16.2 second quarter mile, and she backed off at the top end too... reckon it could get into the 15's.... :D

Indeed your mrsus is very quick down the pod! ;) 16.2 in a stardard fabia is very ood indeed.

She's a proper demon...

just gotta get her reaction times down,

I reckon with less fuel in (it had near enough a full tank) and a following wind, high 15's are possible! (he says!)

indeed I think Justin can confirm that :P

It would be interesting what she could do in a tuned fabia as I can get it down there in 15.53 and TBH I dont think I'm that great at it

I'm sure she'd oblige if you handed her the keys!
