Round Ashtray

Featured Replies

Is the round ashtray that fits in the front cup holder the best option for a container for putting in small items of rubbish.

Thanks

a container for putting in small items of rubbish.

That's exactly how I use it

I use the square niche just forward of the gear lever (below the aircon controls) ;)

Throw rubbish out the window like everyone else :(

I've found a simple, yet very effective, piece of equipment that I usilise as a receptacle for small items of rubbish. I like to call it a 'carrier bag' and it sits neatly in the passenger foot well. AFAIK, Tesco and Sainsbury's give them away for nowt, but M&S charge 5p HTH :)

So do I, the cup holders have a bottle of water and a smartphone holder from the Octavia mk3.

Corrected that for you!

We pay for ALL our carrier bags.

I've got a small ice cream tub on the floor in the drivers footwell for rubbish.

must be overflowing with your posts by now :giggle:

Smart phone holder from octavia mk3, just like boss fox ........ Fits perfectly..

Carrier bag - or those small ones by the fruit and veg section. My personal twist is to hook it over the gear lever - clever huh!

I normally refuse carriers as I have sufficient eco/bio reuseable ones

I need a plastic bag for rubbish only on long journeys. Otherwise the ashtray usually suffices.

Ah not seen this from the Octavia 3 before:

I have however got a Sat nav with a remote. So the holder for the remote is stuck to the top of the Škoda ashtray and my TomTom remote lives there exactly like an iDrive controller on a BMW! You use this without looking (just like iDrive) since the buttons are dimpled so you can feel which is which. And to answer the OP's question: yes inside there is space for all sorts of small things (the roof box key, the roof bar key, etc) The whole thing can still tip even with the remote on it of course.

Thats still darker than my cabin though.....

Eh.. I didn't get a cup/ashtray thingy in my Yeti. Not fair really, when we got our Golf home from delivery the VW bottle opener that should have been in the car was missing.

I have a peddle bin in my passenger foot well. Works quite well, operate it with a pulley system rigged to the electric window motor for hands free operation. Safety first!

Where do I put my rubbish? Let me think. A bin. Like normal people.

Or maybe I'm not normal.

When wanting to lower your passenger window, which switch do you use?

I now use the one on my pillar 50% of the time and reach to the passenger side the rest, this way it's increased the life of my switches by 100%

Still on strike then, bois?

I think you must have got what Skoda call "Non smoking pack". As far as I can tell that means no ashtrays and no cigar lighter. Only SUK could use this as a feature!

Yes your right, that explains it.. where the lighter should be is a cheap plastic plug with 12v on it.

I've been looking on superskoda and the ashtray thingy and mobile holder are 19.99e plus delivery. Ouch!!

Erm...  NO-ONE gets the ashtray as standard I'm afraid.  I bought mine from Superskoda as I'm sure did everyone else with one.  Everyone also gets the 12V plug.  If you order the "smoking pack" you get the cigarette lighter and ashtray.  So it is the opposite way around to what g6zru suggested.   :giggle:

Ok... so if I decided I wanted to purchase one of these is it cheaper to buy from superskoda or from the dealers?
