Left drive shaft problem

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 Skoda Fabia 1.4MPI engine code AQW.

My left hand drive shaft (solid) has come out of the outer CV Joint. What I mean is, the outer CV joint is still attached to the hub and the drive shaft has come out of it. This all happened when I was trying to remove the ball joint as I wanted to change the whole lower wishbone arm.

I'm wondering whether I can push the driveshaft back into the outer CV joint. I will just change the circlip and try to manuever that shaft back in the CV joint. Would it be safe and secure to do it this way? I don't have all the tools to open the driveshaft hub nut and a breaker bar and all that *******s.

Please advise guys. :)

Thank you

Barry

The driveshaft will just slot back in no problems.

Are you sure mate? Just slot it back in securely of course. It won't come out when negotiating roundabouts and all that?

Thank you

It can't come out once the bottom ball joint is in, there isn't enough room.

Just give the driveshaft a good shove in once it's lined up and you should be good.
