Locking wheel bolt grrrrr

Featured Replies

So yesterday had a valve replaced on a tyre and before they proceeded they showed me the locking bolt.......In short the thing is ruined..... :punch:

Now i am looking to get a replacement.  :wall:. Here's a sensible question.. :nerd: ...i live in the Gloucestershire area or so speak in Cheltenham. Does or has anyone visited there local Volkswagen dealer to see if they can get a replacement....the only reason I am asking is that we all know that Skoda are under VAG and our nearest Skoda dealer is a piddly one based in Gloucester.....

Now the particular bolt is this one: post-104403-0-92702400-1373396011_thumb.jpg

Won't a matching locking bolt have to be ordered so the small dealer in Gloucester should be as capable of providing it as a larger dealer?  Incidentally, I live in Stroud so Gloucester dealer also the nearest to me, but I do go to Bristol regularly and there is a larger dealer there.

Incidentally yes but it was more a question on whether or not i could visit my local Volkswagen dealer which is not far from where I live.....and Skoda being part of VAG!

Don't know for sure, but I reckon you might have to purchase a full set.

The other option is to swap them out for regular bolts.  I don't think it's fashionable to steal alloy wheels these days anyway, possibly worth the risk?

Yeah i suspect these days its worth the risk and nobody gives a monkeys about alloys as there cheap enough to get ahold of.....only prob is that in the next couple of weeks I'm off to europe for a couple of weeks to follow the sunshine and in Poland the risk is far more higher than here.....so would rather take the shot of having them....

I did called a VAG dealer this morining so will be visiting them later. Apparently they have 25 different type of the beggers so hope they have mine in stock or actually have my type they can order.....

I actually prefer the old style Locking bolts, the one that had like a Spline Fitment. The new one don't seem to have any grip

Well there goes the VAG idea.....but the people told me the code for what nut i need.....Key Code A....so have rung Skoda and they are ordering it......£30 pounds and plus VAT....
