Scuffed Bumper

Featured Replies

Someone kindly scuffed my rear bumper yesterday at my office car park. I'd carefully parked to allow plenty of room next to me but the driver still managed to hit me. On inspection the BMW had damage on every corner! Clearly not the first time! At least they were good enough to tell me.

The damage is only minor but there is still an obvious scuff mark (just behind the rear driver’s side mud flap. Any suggestions as to the best way to repair or cover this?  Hope someone can help…….

My local ChipsAway guy did a good job on the various scuffs on my Scooby a while back, for a reasonable price.  It's a franchise business so I suppose the quality of the job might depend to a degree on how good the local franchisee is, but I've heard other folks say good things about them so maybe they pick them well.

+1^^^ chipsaway did the rear bumper on SWMBO seat and the job wasn't brilliant, but because of where it was I didn't get them back. Another chipsaway chap did my dad's campervan front bumper and made an excellent job of it so if you are going to use them you might want to ask to see some examples of what they do/see some testimonials etc.

+1 on ChipsAway, great job on a Fiesta I just to own and was really reasonable on price.

Thanks for that - I shall give them a call.

Bumpers regularly come up on Ebay.

If somebody owned up to the damage I'd expect them to pay also!

ChipsAway chap repaired my rear bumper on the Prius when a mystery scuff appeared from no where. The marks were removed ok but the paint spray looked awful a totally different silver to the rest of the bumper. I ended up making a claim on the companies insurance and having a full bumper respray at an approved painters. A friend of mine had her Beetle door damaged by a four inch scratch. The ChipsAway bloke for some reason sprayed about a 10 x 15 inch part of the panel and the finish was so poor it stood out like a patchwork, again it was taken to a proper painters. I think this franchise ist good for chips (stone type) and that's about all
