Sell the Yeti?

Featured Replies

I miss the performance of my old Octavia so am thinking of selling the Yeti to fund another Octavia VRS.

I've just had a valuation from CAP and they reckon £14000 to £14500 for a private sale. Does this sound realistic?

Spec is -

Yeti 1.4TSI SE in Black Magic. 61 Reg (Sep 2011). 4000 miles only. Amundsen Sat Nav. Spare Wheel.

I bought it as a demonstrator with 25 miles on it.

I'm guessing I wouldn't get a very good deal if I traded it in.

It's been a great car and it'll be sad to see it go but I may well get another in the future.

You may be surprised what you get for trade in.

Got to be worth a try.

Not that many 1.4 Yeti about I believe.

Why don't you stick with the Yeti, it's an AWESOME all-rounder.

I agree, but it is not suitable for everyone.....

I agree - it's a great all-rounder. What I miss is the power and handling.

Why not PX it for a "muscle" Yeti? :giggle:

On a regular road I don't believe there is much between the VRS and a top engined Yeti, but you do have the advantage of 4x4.

Top engined meaning the 1.8tsi or the 170 diesel.

+1 on the above especially as your Yeti is low miles and still has warrenty on it so the dealer should snatch your hand off. I was surprised what the dealer gave me for my 1.4TSI Octy when I traded it in for my vRS last October so might be worth going to several dealers to see what deals you can get. which Octy vRS were you looking at? MKII or III diesel or petrol? if it's a used petrol mkII then the cost to change may not be that great, now the MKIII has been released and compared to trading up to a more powerful Yeti, though residuals on the Octy probably wouldn't be as good when you come to get rid of it.

good luck

I'm after a MK11 Petrol Manual vRS. It's certainly worth asking a dealer to see what they can offer. I had a MK1 Petrol, but wrote it off.

I was looking for another vRS, but saw the Yeti and thought I'd give it a try. Couldn't find a decent deal on a vRS at the time and needed a car in a hurry.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.
