Hi there guys, I would like to remove my rear wiper and motor completely as they have no function at all (motor has died). Therefore I cannot be bothered to replace it. So is it easy to remove these components and also if anyone else has done it where did you get the grommet cover from to cover the hole in the glass??

Much help appreciated

There's a nut holding the wiper arm but you will need a puller to get the arm off the motor spindle - remember you are dealing with glass not a metal panel so you should not rive at it. I got a wiper arm puller from Amazon. After that, remove the boot trim panel and the wiper motor is simply held on by three nuts.

I would suggest Halfords or similar to get the chrome cap used to cover a hole left in a panel by a radio aerial.

Just a thought, but if you get that far, and bearing in mind resale issues, it would be easy to replace the motor?

Would it be correct to say that with the wiper motor & arm removed it will still pass an MOT as the rear wiper has to function "where fitted"?

Just a thought if I am wrong...

As far as I'm aware if there is no wiper it isn't a fail, if the wiper is ther and doesn't work its a fail. Same as a spare tyre n the likes if it's not there its fine, if its there it must be in full working order. Saloons often don't have rear wipers.

That's what I thought, but I thought I raise the issue just to be sure for the OP.
