Bonnet scoop or BFOFMIC

Featured Replies

Admittedly that DID involve a rather large investment in bigger injectors though ;)

Nevertheless - very impressive figures indeed

From an Audi I beleive ;)

Nice figures mate. can't wait to see the final report.

How did you rate the twin TT setup?

  • Author

The twin TT set up restricted things, it's just a bodge up job at the moment using some HVAC ducting and some SS pipe made up by a kind welder at work, not a lot of time has went into its development. It started leaking at 1.8 bar boost hence we backed off, I'll have to save up now for the FMIC kit, I still like the Seat one but with more being available now I'll have to phone round. The Octavia and LCR ones are rated around 330bhp, but I'll have to ask around to see if there's a diesel equivelent. The LSD will go in next week, it's very wet here at the moment, just hoping it's dry tomorrow.

Why not use Forge's one?

Did you ever log the intake temps with the twin setup when you were running lower boost?

The Forge one looks very nice :)

Not a clue how much boost it would take though, perhaps someone (Colin?) could drop Forge a line to find that out :D

I really, really hope my insurance company will let me FMIC the car. Without a remap it wouldnt produce any extra power (although it would let me use all the power throughout the year, and hopefully reduce smoke) - so keeping fingers crossed :D

isnt all this a bit ott!!!

skodas anit boy racer cars there boy racer beaters hahahaha

The forge one looks very nice I'll call tomorrow they are bound to have pressure tested it. I like also the allard one but it would screw up my ram boost intake as they take it in through the standard intake point. I've hit a few puddles and wouldn't dare take the intake from the fog light area. So it's Forge or Seat, unless you know different.

230+bhp!!!!

dread to think how much it's cost, but what a figure!!

Your right. I started with a gentle remap, was very happy with it. Then went to a new tunning shop and it all went a bit pear shaped ( The " we can get more syndrome" )

I bodged together a twin smic set up just to try something different and very very cheap, I'm Scottish after all.

Now with many new bits a lot more power and more to come if I can sort out a FMIC, you see where I've come from and where I'm hoping to get to.

I'm way to OLD for boy racer, I like to think of it as a mid life crisis. My last car was a Boxster 2.7 and I only washed it. This is all new to me and quite addictive

Out of interest, can you tell us the new tuning shop?

what have you done?? stuck that turbo from the plane or whatever it was on it??

seem like massive figures!

By the sound of what you've got, tuning-wise, FMIC should be a nice way of getting the cooling to match the rest of the upgrades - interesting for sure, must admit I'm not likely to spend quite that much on our car but still, it's nice to see how far you can push it by doing this :D :D

We'll just have to wait until October, unless we try something else, Still don't think it'll keep up with the 300 plus petrols, but the 265/270 should be no problem, they only just got away on the straight last time, but they could'nt get away from Brian with 215bhp. As for the TT's they were a real disapointment the quattro 225 was pathetic round corners it just kept understeering must be the drive system but it could pull out of the hairpin well.

Don't want to start a Octavia / Fabia debate again but we must be able to comment on the VR6's and1.8t golfs, bezzas and LCR's that were there for the taking that night.

ADMoto any comments.

:finger::finger: :P The straights weren't long enough. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it :D

I'll have more confidence in the Octy next time - plus more power :D so maybe won't be the slowest car on the track next time :o:o It would be nice to pass someone :)

Won't be the S2's though

The TT had a woman driver :P

well i can say next time at knockhill will be very intresting.robdon is getting a new turbo kit on his leon and should run 300bhp just with that and i think one of the ibizas is getting it done too.

matchmaker you should get the K04 turbo too :P K04+remap=270-280BHP alone ;)

ok i need a car :(

screw K04, garret is the future baby!!

There are a few waiting to see how the blue S3 gets on with the K04s including Rob, Dave (LC )and at least one Ibiza, they should be interesting but not as interesting as the Ibiza at Kames, 360 is a big target. And they say the JBS Octavia is 440 so a bit to go. I can't go down the nitros cooled FMIC route or an Aquamist injector although it might work with the MEOH like IanR's car but the thought of MEOH and rubber pipes and seals frighten me A LOT
