What's your next car?

Featured Replies

Hopefully I can keep the Rover and the Fabia going until I inherit the Dino 246gt from my Dad. Could be a while yet though, he's only 55 and doesn't plan on giving up driving anytime soon.

  • That's why I want a Porker, I'm not feeling enough hate as an Audi owner. And as a verified sith lord I feed on hate, it makes me stronger.  Mwhahahahaaah!

  • My next car will be a Mk3 Octy VRS.......seeing as I ordered one this afternoon

  • Not sure what's next, have a few options with work, new car every 6mths for around £230 a month, nice spec A3 sport back Sline, new A3 saloon, up the budget a little Black Edition A5 Coupe. But then

I will be keeping my Scout as a workhorse for a fair while yet, it's a versatile little beast. Torn between a used S1000RR to complement the GSA I have, or another MX-5 for fun, but this time a mk3.5 with a turbo conversion

AMG 45 hopefully they will be more affordable in 3 years time used

Having spent sometime in Hortons in Lincoln today It's going to be a Octy VRS estate in race blue, tried to convice them to let me have it as a loan car, but it fell on deaf ears (had a Fabia scout instead)

Golf ED30 mmmmmm

Not sure, nothing really takes my fancy other than the new fista st, but I would like to stick to vag or skoda in particular.

Maybe the Fabia 3 Vrs when that comes out

I expect I will have an RS5. Going to test the C63 Edition 507 when Mercedes get one in as the 450bhp normal edition wasn't enough for me.

Or stop wasting my money on cars and be mortgage free by 35.

I fancy a Honda S2000 next I think, bigger house is my priority right now though.

Not getting a new one for 2 years and 3 months!

I will have undoubtedly changed my mind by then but if I was changing tomorrow it would be:

New Octy vRS Diesel DSG

Merc A Class Diesel AMG Sport

Audi A3 Sportback S-Line Diesel

BMW 120d M-Sport (in estoril blue!)

One of those.

Will be changing the wifes GTD in for a GTi sometime on the next couple of years.

Tried convincing the mrs an Octavia 3 vRS would be a good idea. She relented and agreed to at least look at a Skoda. Now she's seen the Superb the Octavia is dead and buried

Just changing the Citroen DS3 (Mrs FW is having that) to a Yeti. If I suddenly came into a bundle of money, I quite fancy a new V6 Exige S to replace my Elise.

The one on the left, although you've got to love the original Exige on the right

Not likely to happen any time soon though, so I'll make do with just the one new car, don't want to be greedy :)

At the minute, the Rapid Spaceback Greenline is the favourite

Superb 2.0 TDI Elegance or Octavia 3 2.0 tsi

Can't decide whether to change or not. Would mean a heap more finance

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

A6 3.0 diesel quattro Allroad probably.

Good choice!

Having just replaced one car in April, I'm going to buy another flat or house to rent out first!

Got about another 2 years on the Superb lease so will have to see what is available at the time and also what level I am entitled too. Same level means similar cars to current so Octy 3 / FL Superb / BMW 3 etc, next level up makes way for Audi A6/7, BMW 5 etc. Rumour that company are adding Jaguars to company car list so that would be nice.

What ever it is I am leaning towards an auto - really bored of changing gear !!!

Not likely to change mine for a year or two but depending on my situation and requirements (plus what the Mrs is driving at the time) :-

Octy III vRS Petrol DSG Estate (if she hasn't changed her impracticable MX-5 by then)

VW Rocco R (as I've always fancied one)

Porsche Cayman S (if I can justify the expense)

After spending 2 weeks driving a cheap 2litre celica GT round some of the nicest roads in Europe, I am sorely tempted to get a Celica GT4 (ST205 one) when/if funds allow.

I have 12 months left with the Yeti, our company has had a "Change to car policy" so now a Yeti does not conform with the rules!

This has given me the dilemma of what to get next.

My children are older now so only one joins us for holidays or days out, we do not tow a caravan anymore so no need for a tow bar and most of the time it is just me in the car, so I have short listed a few cars that I now need to test drive in the next 12 months.

1, Golf MK 7 GTD, this is a 184 bhp DSG flying machine, although a bit pricey it has just 119 , manual only has 109 CO2, Golf is expensive though at £26k'ish

2, Seat Leon FR, 184 bhp tdi, as the Golf but £4K cheaper and only manual.

3, Polo GTi petrol, on the small side, could possibly be the Fabia 3 VRS depending on looks.

4, This is what my employer wants us all to have, a Golf or A3 1.6 CR diesel..   not what I want!

We shall see, I have a year to decide and find a happy medium for me and the company.

That'll be Skodas all round then, your boss could then say, all his employees are Happy Drivers.

A classic hopefully, something relitively cheap and easy to work on, like a 'starter' classic. Have seen a nice Austin A40 Farina in budget. Once i move to the mainland will be trawling through some classic car dealers to drive a few options....

Should be this time next year but on the list are:
RenaultSport Megane 265
GT86
Elise/Exige

The last one I came close before and if it wasn't for the kayak I probably would have. May try and convince my cousin to go halfers on a boat that he can tow. I can sell the kayak and buy one :D

I'm testing a Megane and the Astra VXR this week. Asked on Twitter what people think of them and I've already had the dealer questioning if I'm selling the vRS or not

Skoda don't do a hatch back like the A3 or Golf or Leon, so no skoda's unfortunately

The Model S seats five, has a range of about 240 miles and does 0-60mph in between 4.2 and 5.6 seconds depending on which motor you get.

Plus I can recharge for free.

Problem is, it's designed for America.

A bit wide and no parking sensors, plus missing several nice options.

Being an EV it can make sense as a company car though.

8 year battery warranty shows commitment, if Tesla survives long term.

There's a erm Volvo (S60) I think, plug in hybrid with just 49 grams and no slouch by the look of it if one wanted something with a sensible BIK. Granted however its not in Tesla territory.

I just can't get interested in Hybrids.

After the Ampera I dislike the penalties of carting around the gubbins of a petrol car and an electric car.

An EV should be designed from the ground up to be an EV.  And an EV fits in to my pattern of use.

Problem is I find few cars these days actually appeal to me.  I have a short attention span it seems, often changing my mind.

I can see me selling up and just keeping the Yeti which is bought and paid for (for towing the Citigo to track) and driving an EV every day.
