Engine Warning light!

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm new to the forum and asking for help as I'm very stuck with the engine warning light on my fabia dashboard. She is a 12v 56 plate Ambiente and so far have done about 45k.

Have had no problems driving her until last night, the engine warning light came on, then started flashing which then the car started to shudder and ceased to move at all. Is this a common fault? Has anyone else had anything like this?

I've filled up the engine oil today and it hasn't taken the light off, although the shuddering has not yet re-appeared.

Really worried and a bit reluctant to get skoda to have a closer look as they charge about £50 just to check the fault, would other garages be able to help?

Any help and advise would be really appreciated.

Thanks

YC x

Thank you for getting back. Would a private garage for cheaper than skoda to do it? I will try mailing a VCDS owner local to me see if they are willing to help :)

a local garage / vw group specialist could do it yep they norm charge around £20-25 to read and clear a fault code . but an email or too could save you a fair few quid :)
