I've not long finished fitting my yeti graduated side decals. These were purchased from Skodadop.com as they aren't currently available in UK.

Part no: 5L0071733A  (5L0071733C is the lighter decal for darker cars). I thought I'd post my experience incase anyone else is thinking of buying them.

They come in separate parts for rear and front doors, there is no overlap and no room for error or waste.

I think this turned out to be a good thing, as you have to leave a 2mm gap from door hinge/edge which acts as a guide and also lets air bubbles escape and helps adhesion.

You have another guide also as the backing paper top edge has to be placed tight up against the bottom of the moulding strip.

 

I lined up the smallest section first for the rear door and taped it in the middle as instructed.

 

 

Then its a case of peeling half of the backing paper and cutting the backing with scissors (extra pair of hands would be handy here), apply liberal spray of soapy water to door and back of decal, use the spatula provided to spread the decal and remove bubbles. The soap allows movement if needed and makes the process much easier. Applying this small section was incredibly easy.

 

 

For the longer front door section you are instructed to do as above, i.e. one half and then the other. This proved tricky to do alone due to the length of decal and I ran into a couple of problems. The top edge got stretched slightly when I pulled it down to remove a small bit of dirt trapped in the middle (my fault for being stupid and not peeling it back from the vertical edge instead) but I got round this by cutting two teeny tiny nicks at the top with scissors to remove the stretch. I know they're there but you can't really see them unless you look closely.

 

 

 

Onto the passenger side and I had learned my lesson from the driver side. I peeled the backing slower and applied the decal a short length at a time (peel, soap, spread, repeat to the end), spraying with soap as I went. This side has no bubbles/blemishes and is applied perfectly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

All in all it was reasonably easy to do with care. 

I think they will act as protectors against chips, tar etc on this vulnerable area of the car and I like how they look.

 

Being a bit of a perfectionist I will keep an eye on the driver door small imperfections and if they annoy me or start to lift away then I will likely buy another set and redo this section. However I've just checked to see how its setting and I think they will be ok.

 

 

Looks good to me. I can't even get a screen protector on a phone so I'll leave this for others :-)

Super job MarieK. I think those decals look fantastic on the white yeti.

 

I should have my yeti by next week so will get these ordered sharpish. Did you look at the bonnet decals?

Snowy now looks VERY smart and stylish with these contrasting against his white body work. Not sure they would work as well on my metallic green and that's going to be my excuse for not having the patience/steady hand to even have a go at it!.

The lighter ones would be very nice on green, they have a silvery look to them

I am now considering the light colour ones on my Yeti. Marie did you pay via credit card transaction, I understand you said the cost was £93 is there any carriage cost and what is the delivery time?

Not that I'm in the market for these but I would have preferred them if they had just wrapped around the door edges. I presume these are based on paint protection film as the fitting method is the same, I had no trouble when I made my rear door 'foils' of taking and adhering about 12 mm around the door lip, adding extra protection.

3M paint protection film does not come cheap either, but does a very good job of protecting paintwork, cheaper though than a visit to a body shop :-)

Sorry forgot to say, that includes delivery and they only took three days to arrive.

I bite the bullet today and fitted 3m paint protection film to the bottom half of my Yeti doors .I ordered 5metres of the film from a firm on island (5m x 15cms) which depth wise covered perfectly. I cut the film to required lengths for back and front doors, and proceeded to fit them.Quite easy followed MarieK, advice and they are done.No air bubbles and hopefully will protect this area.One word of advice, make sure the area is spotless and fully degreased and use plenty of soapy water to fit them.I found wearing a pair of viynal disposable gloves stopped the finger prints happening on the adhesive side of the film.

These decals look great on both cars, like the boot Yeti, would love to fit some myself, but not sure if I would make a mess of it, with stick  on labels or screen protectors normally end up with bubbles or not on straight etc.
