VCDS - How is BT enabled for Amundsen 310

Featured Replies

Hi there, so....got VCDS, connected it to my motor (2011 VrS) with factory Amundsen, hoping to enable the BT as Welsh Kai Boy described in his excellent guide, but gutted to find mine is a 310, not a 315, so the option doesn't show on the VCDS screen. Does anyone know if its possible to unlock the BT or do I need a seperate unit? There is no mic fitted in the light either.

Also does anyone know how to get the digital speed display through VCDS.

Thx for any info.

Digital speed display is well documented on here and involves changing the country to 'Australia'.

I believe the 310 doesn't have BT built in but the 315 does.

Many thanks for the speedy reply, got the digital speed sorted. I think you are spot on, the 310 needs an additional unit, coming in at about 200 quid!

You can get harness for about £45 on eBay and a module for about £100.

Or try CarSystems.pl or Skodateile.cz for new ones.

I don't belive this is the case Mike. The 315 unit fitted to the Blackline does not have a mic fitted in the interior light, but BT can be switched on via VCDS and the mic is then retrofitted as documented on this forum. I didnt realise my Amundsen was an old one until I plugged in my VCDS. Oh well, back to the old method of passing the phone to my wife....which she loves.

Have to admit that's what I thought from having read the Blackline / Amundsen thread.

But I didn't want to say anything as I don't have either...

Sorry mate you're out of luck there. You'd have needed an Amundsen + which is actually the equivalent of the RNS315. They are quite rare on the used market.....also only a particular part no has the BT module in it (also comes with a DAB tuner). The Blacklines were all fortunate to come with the right unit due to the standard DAB fitment but most of them (i.e units that were in Fabia's etc) don't have the BT or DAB.

To buy one new from Skoda you'd be looking at the thick end of £1200.

Also in BL's you still had to buy and fit the mic loom and microphone before it would work, but audio streaming works without the mic. All plug and play into OEM fixtures and connectors though, no wire splicing or anything silly like that. VCDS tweak and £32 for the mic and loom is all that's required.

Not all Amundsen+'s have BT though.

And not all new ones cost £1200: http://www.skodateile.cz/index.php?pg=product∏=409&menu=Škoda|Octavia II(A5) facelift

Although I don't guarantee that this one has BT (why else would you have a mic though?) or DAB.

Cheers for the input guys, at least I already had the VCDS to find out before I ordered a mic. I am changing the car soon (still VAG, but a VW Caravelle-will miss my Octy) so I wont bother fiddling around anymore, however if any Blackline owners need the BT unlocking....
