Thought I might as well start a thread, rather than individual posts throughout the Citigo forum

 

Anyway, here goes...

 

I picked up the car on Saturday 27th July 2013 from Westover Skoda in Bournemouth.

Now, as I live in Sheffield it is quite a distance to buy from them, but they had a deal on pre reg Citigo Sports that I had seen on the internet.

After speaking with the salesman at Westover, Michael Evans, on the Friday (a top top guy!), I took the plunge and told him I would be down the day after to collect.

It was all a bit of a rush, as I had to organise insurance, book coach tickets down there etc.

Also the Briskoda National Meet was on the Sunday, and I wanted to attend so I organised a hotel for Saturday night in Coventry near the Meet.

 

So me and SWMBO got on the National Express at 1.30am on the Saturday morning and arrived in London at 6.30am. After 30mins wait we then boarded the coach to Bournemouth and arrived there at 10am.

After a quick stroll down to see the beach we got a taxi to the showroom to pick up my new car

I was quite impressed with the whole experience and SWMBO got a nice bouquet of flowers as well

 

 

 

I was handed the keys which, I must say the Sport key fob looks great

 

 

 

After thanking Michael, we then set off to Coventry to book in at the hotel for some well earned relaxation.

 

The hotel was fantastic and we left the next day to attend the National meet.

 

Had a great day and met some nice new people and also saw some old friends.

So i got back home Sunday evening feeling Shattered, but really happy with my new car (first new car I have ever bought)

 

My first impressions was how planted the car feels on tight turns and roundabouts, the chassis is spot on and surely unparalleled in this class. It really does feel like it could take a lot more power.

However the mere 60bhp certainly seems nippy enough and it makes a great noise, a nice little rasp.

It cruises fine on the motorway, and handles the bumps great for a supermini.

 

After a quick wash, this is how it was on its first visit to the works car park

 

 

 

Then, the day after Tuesday 30th July I had promised Charlie (username Didescharlie) that I would attend the East Midlands meet to get a couple of pics side by side with his Sport. So here they are

 

 

 

Next up was to source a spare wheel.

I had picked up a space saver off Ebay on the way to the East midlands meet for a tenner, but I much prefer a proper wheel.

I spotted a genuine Citigo Apus 14" Alloy with tyre on eBay, and it was only 5 mins from my home.

The guy wanted £80 for it, but I managed to exchange the space saver and with a bit of haggling got it for £60.

Its a bit scratched but nevermind

 

 

Just need to source a jack kit now.

 

I had also bought some Briskoda stickers at the meet so here they are in situ

Then I ditched the horrible dealer fitted tax disc holder for a magnatax one from Halfords, which looks much better IMO

 

On the back of it I applied a Briskoda "B" sticker to smarten it up

 

 

 

I then replaced the number plate bulb with an LED one, which I will take a photo of when its dark, and also replaced the interior bulb with an LED one as well. (if anyone wishes to do theirs the number plate is W5W and the interior is a 42mm Festoon)

I will also take a pic of interior bulb when its dark.

 

Not sure what to do next now, dont want to spend too much or change things drastically yet but I do like to customise my rides to my style. 

Also been told to calm down the spending from SWMBO as well, so got to be careful lol.

Now...If some Ronal 16" Aero's come up at the right price

The more I look at the sport the less I feel the need for the heated seats of the elegance, yours looks fantastic in red.

As I said in the other section, great looking car this.

Personally I think you got the best colour for a Sport.

looks like you've done a fair bit to it already! haha

 

It was good having my elegance next to your sport at the National meet. Nice to see the subtle differences haha

I like that a lot. Love the key, it's great that they've added special touches like that.

Great looking car.  I looked at the Skoda when I bought but ended up with the Seat Mii Sport Vibora Negra.  Had the Sport been available then it would have made my choice a lot harder

Finally got chance to get some wax on it

 

Really pleased with how it brought out the shine

 

Probably just keep on top of washing and waxing until next spring now, where I will be asking ChrisRS to machine polish some minor swirls out (what the dealership did whilst washing it)

Lovely looking car, wasn't sure about the Citigo at first but having seen a few they are really starting to grow on me.

Can anyone comment on rear legroom, for kids? May consider ditching OH's Mini Clubman for one!!

Rear legroom for kids is fine, but probably worthwhile testing it for yourself to make sure

 

Boots surprisingly spacious for the size of the car as well, very deep

 

Much better use of available space compared to a mini, but thats my opinion anyway
