Today I toured paint and or body shops, for private repair, cheapest back street garage £1700 dearest £2500

 

Insurance RAC has authorised full repair, that is good news anyway

The garage has to smash the windscreen to spray the posts ? plus they strip the body completely, so he says there will be no tape or overspray markings

I am going to chance my arm and ask if he will do my delaminated spoiler :-)

 

Bad news is the Garage doing the work, closes on Friday for two weeks holidays (Fair Fortnight) so will commence the work 20 Aug

 

Outcome I am getting my brilliant car back, It will be on my drive for three weeks so Mr Angry has time to come back and take his frustrations out

Good news glad your sorted with the repair. The PIR Floods are a good idea from a deterrent point of view if you think the lights coming on will make him run off etc.

However they might not be the best thing for the camera recording. Typically the Camera's I.R. Setting might yield better results even in greyscale than the colour camera will under floodlight conditions. I'm thinking from a convictions / identifying the perpetrator perspective. Try it though and see what results you get.

I got the floods because it is pitch black after midnight, as the street lights go off (saves the council money as NO ONE WALKS HOME AT NIGHT DO THEY? )

I think I may cut the floods and wire the PIR to a buzzer next to my computer, as I am nearly always here to the small hours, so I will see on the camera, and pop out

to teach them how to play pool or snooker which ever one they want educated in

 

Rallye Green would be a big problem as I live in a Rangers area :-)

glad to here the good news, just hope you or the fuzz get the culprit, still scum though, no need to do that to anyones property.

I could have half accepted it IF I had any doubts about my lifestyle, Only seriously I have never had a run in with anyone in my life

 

There is no obvious reason I was attacked

 

The only wrong thing I can see, is I am the only person in the street who wears a collar and tie, and the guy at the end of the street got busted for running a Cannabis farm, so possibly he thought it must have been me who grassed him up IT WAS NOT I did not even know about it, Until the big raid

 

It could have been anyone, wrong colour car, English in Scotland, but never had a problem in my small town in forty years

 

Just put it down to it happened get over it, and I have my great car back eventually, and in even better nick even if my premiums go up Witch they will

Try not to think too much about why someone did this. Sadly there may be no reason at all.

I have lived in my street for over 40 years

This morning I awoke to find my Fabia 07 SE VRS covered on every panel, with some sort of liquid that has removed the paint down to the metal

including the tyres and alloy's

 

I do not know where I stand with insurance for vandalism, the last time over six years ago was a hit and run, but cost me dear insurance wise as a no fault but unable to claim as no witnesses, Same today

 

I have honestly never crossed anyone, but it was definitely targeted as only car in the street and on my drive

 

I thought I had no enemies, I have worked in the roughest pubs in Scotland, and even murderers were kind to me

 

All I have is SPECULATION, one of the guys in the street was raided by the Police for a cannabis farm, he left the street last night, He reckons I am a bit posh compared to the rest, with the newest car, I helped him many times with his Alfa Romeo's but even with the help just grunted thanks or do not bother mate

 

I feel so sick, my pride and joy is ruined, can not afford a non insurance claim ,My last was a hit and run on my VRS six years ago,  I could not even eat tonight, I feel so sick

I am 66 and this was my retirement present to myself :-(

feel for you, I got 465 and some turd keyed the side of mine on the drive.... was going to put a banner out the next day saying " You ad the b*** to key my car, but have you got the b*** to come and tell me you done it" like you, I thought I didn't have any enemies, but this day & age the world has now got some sick b*******
