Anti rattle spring and brake pad sliders?

Featured Replies

Right i have finally started to paint my 312 brakes but i seem to of lost my anti rattle spring clip thing and the metal sliders that allow the brakes to move. So question is can i buy these separate from a dealers, gmf etc?

Hi Joe_vrs_tdi

Both are available ( probably from more sources than these - possibly even Main Dealer! ). Just a quick look came up with :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A6-A8-TT-FRONT-BRAKE-CALIPER-SLIDER-PINS-GUIDES-BOLTS-BCF1306J-/230896989129?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35c28873c9

http://www.eurocarparts.com/brake-accessories-and-brake-fitting-kit

Both for ATE calipers - as fitted to Audi TT etc.

Sorry! Eurocarparts link won't take you directly but type in details for 2000 Audi TT in the 'select your vehicle' boxes and they'll come up!!

Thanks for the links. I have actually found the anti rattle springs now but cant find the other part and unfortanatly the part you linked is not what im after. The parts i need are the little thin metal parts that you copper grease that allow the pads them self to move freely.

Edit : found them on ecp website now. Thanks.

on my standard callipers those little tin sliders came with genuine pads

Actually they are for the rear.

Hi

Have a look at this link : http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/43733-312mm-brakes-pictorial/

If your calipers look like these I think they don't have the chromed steel 'slider' plates you refer to. (These form the anti-rattle function on Lucas calipers as fitted as standard to the Mk.1 vRS.)

I thought when you mentioned metal sliders you were talking about the slide pins!!

"Actually they are for the rear."

Hi again Joe_vrs_tdi

Seems our posts 'crossed'. I gather you're looking for the anti-rattle shims/'sliders' for your REAR brakes??

If so the following from Eurocarparts is what you're looking for - Pagid Brake Fitting Kit (Rear) Part No.: 107770058

Hope that's you sorted now.

No for the front im on about. So there is no metal shim type slidders on the 312 ate callipers. Just need to be clean and copper grease where the go isit? I have the metal pins still.

So i didnt miss place them as i never had any.

I fitted 312's recently and never had any shims. Only for the rears I had them.
