A small mod

Featured Replies

As we didn't opt for a Columbus or Amundsen (too expensive, too expensive if it ends up FUBAR'd and a temptation for thieves) we got the dealer to add an additional 12V socket under the dash cubby,

Unfortunately the depth wasn't enough for a Sat-Nag plug, so I sourced thiis from Halfords,

A small hole to allow the Sat-Nag cable through which is hardly noticeable (centre of the cover, closest to the windscreen)

And a spare socket for the phone charger to boot and no need to pay a wedge for a built in Sat-Nag and no leads trailing from the 12V socket in the centre console :)

Forgot to add, the twin charger now is fixed with some 3M double sided velcro so is removable and fixed when in situ.

You haven't had it 5 minutes and you're already modding it, what's next then? ;)

I reckon they look great with the black roof :)

That's quite neat - nice job.

I saw this mod on an earlier thread. But how do I get the tray out to put the wiring under it and back to the fuse panel?

No idea mate. As said, the dealer did that one upto putting a power socket there.

I think you may find the details you are looking for HERE A guide to installing a Sat-Nav and USB socket in the Top Box.

Its in the Yeti Technical Guides Section. Link You will find lots of interesting information there.

Hope this helps and gives you some ideas......................Tony

Yup be quick as in the summer you will have one BIG melted liquorice all sort as it gets VERY hot in that compartment.  Mine has been empty since the day I bought my car.

Same here, it's like a small oven, be careful what you put in it.

Talking politics again???    :D

KEEP liquorice allsorts............What kind of person could keep them - they would not make it back to the Yeti from the shop!

Liquorice Allsorts are kept in the cubby box between the seats, that way I can still get to them when "Madam" goes to sleep! Abnd I can thoroughly recommend the ones from Lidl!!

My dash top box has a pile of receipts, my fuel consumption notebook, couple of pens, a Maglite torch and the phone handsfree ear kit that only gets used on a long train journey. There is room for the Garmin if we park somewhere "dodgy"

Meat Pie for lunch?

Looks neat.

BTW I see Superskoda will soon be selling covers for the B pillars to match the C pillarsyet-bpl5.jpg

Which deflectors are they ?, and how do you find them ? (fitting, and in use)

Other companies have been making these atrocities for years and it ruins the most distinctive part on a Yeti. But each to their own.

Team Heko off ebay from a company called towequipe. Self install is a doddle, they just push in. Need to raise and lower the windows a few times after to get them to 'bed in'. They come with pictorial instructions anyway :)

Thanks, and what are the pro's and con's of having them ?
