Long story but Fosters have invited me to Silverstone on Saturday, all meals included, paddock pass, Murray Walker speach and watch the events on track.

What can I expect the traffic to be like? I'm coming down from Notts so only 80 mile away.

Not sure on how much time to give for the journey, dont want to miss anything sat in traffic

i live in northampton and believe me when i say it will be a nightmare, police are closing all the major routes ie the A43 etc to try and control the traffic, the problem you have is that Oasis are playing at Milton Keynes bowl on the same night and the venues are about 8 miles from each other and the police are diverting traffic from both events down the same route.

if i were you i would come down the m1 and come off at 15 like they tell you but instaed of following all the other traffic to the end of the A508 go through stoke bruerne, you will go through a small village called roade just after this you will see signs on the right for stoke bruerne take this road and follow the signs for towcester,when you get right to the end of this road you will reach the a5 junction turn left and take first right to village of whittlebury,this is where everyone camps up for british grand prix and there are bus services to track.the journey will take 4 hours from notts i reckon maybe 5 if traffic is bad,if you want better directions let me know and i will phone you or something.

I went last year on both days and was amazed at how easy the traffic was.

Sat was very quiet.

when i last went, I aimed to get there for 6am and missed all the traffic no problem, best bit was getting a steak sandwich for brekki
