Fitting AP Coilovers - what else do i need?

Featured Replies

I have some of the checked older threads on this already but some items weren't available on the links that are posted in those threads anymore

I am going to order some AP coilovers and want to know what else i will need, links to buy these items would help greatly.

My current suspension is completely standard and i have no idea if/when any of the smaller parts (drop links, etc) were changed so i'm willing to get these bits, just so i can get everything changed at the same time as fitting the coilovers to avoid issues later on. Everything seems to be running fine, no knocks or anything like that so i have no idea, what would you recommend getting checked and possibly changing??

Thank you

Harry

Checked some of the older threads*

Ideally youd replace the strut top mounts. Its a time consuming job to take all the suspension off. So for what it costs, it saves you possibly having to take it all off again in a few months.

Get droplinks, some coilovers require shorter droplinks than standard, someone with ap's can confirm if theyre needed.

Only other things to check are bushes and lower ball joints. If these are knackered its worth changing whilst youve got all of it off anyways

I'd advise getting shorter droplinks with AP's, I was told I wouldn't need them but was having issue with the arb hitting the driveshaft when they were wound only half way down..

Need to go lower then ;)

I would but I wasn't to keen on the music my undertray started playing.. And I'm quite keen on the trays bolt catching capabilities..

FR Rear bump stops, the standard ones will be shot and these are a little shorter.
