I can't afford a good spec MK3 Octy so going with the Fabia, I'll have it for at least a couple of years and its 'only' cost me £2.5k

Getting the exact colour scheme that I wanted, candy white, black roof and black gigaros. Pick up 1st week in September on a 63 plate.

Wish me luck!!!!

OK - Good Luck!  :hi:

Thanks David :-)

Thanks David :-)

I ment the tread not u lol it's confusing.

Trust youve driven one extensively first? I had one from new for 18 months, engine is cracking but I never felt it drove particularly well....the handling and brakes in standard form are very poor IMO.

Hates a very strong word but id be lying if I said I loved it.....the Blackline I changed it for couldnt be any more of a polar oposite if it tried.

sorry but i do wonder if you'll regret it.

Sorry David, I was saying bye to one vRS and hello to a new one.

Also, I've test driven one sufficiently and love the DSG and snappy performance, I used to have a MK1 diesel fabia vRS and then a 1.6 diesel Octy so it looks like I'm working my way through the range.. I know I'll miss the overall comfort of the Octy but my travel to work is a twisty country road drive and I don't see a motorway very often so don't particularly need a diesel.

I like the Fabia vRS, but i don't think I could go from the Octavia to one. I will agree totally about the cost of the mk3, cost to change for me (with p/x of my current FL vRS) is only £3k less than what I paid for my car in the first place.

That is an expensive change in my book. Enjoy the fabia its a quick little car.

Ahh I get you now, get yourself over to the Mk2 Fabia forum, enjoy reading the topics on oil usage, and other boring stuff like that lol.

I moved away from a mk2 fabia vrs to the octavia.

I had the vrs for just short of 3 years, absolutely loved it and then it blew it's piston rings up. Amongst other problems.

The brakes, overall handling, comfort, power, etc in the octavia are far superior and I couldn't see myself turning back.

Not trying to put you off at all, when the fabia works, it is a brilliant car.

Hope everything goes well.

I'm ignoring the threads on oil consumption. All motoring forums highlight the problems, which is probably where they most home in handy......

Actually, I've read just about every single post on oil consumption!!!!!!!!
