wheel wobble?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Just brought a fabia vrs 54 plate and i seem to be having a few wheel wobble problems. I get wobble through my steering wheel when i brake i get slight wheel wobble when im driving along and earlier i put my foot down from about 20 and the steering wheel started wobbling like mad. Does anybody know what this could be as id like to get ot sorted. Iv had the front wheels re-balanced and there now fine and not buckled.

Could the console bushes affect this?

I had a similar issue and it turned out the suspension spring had acutally snapped (about 1 turn off) and was no longer there. That obviously would have put all of the front suspension out of kilter.

So it could be something around the front suspension. Not very useful, but get the car up on a ramp and have a good look, starting at the console bushes like Dark_Hero said.

Guna give it to a garage near my work to have a look i havnt had the car a week yet so if they find a problem with it then il contact the garage i got it from.

Also heard could be a driveshaft on its way out only does it when goin slow if put foot down from 20 turning left it wobbles like mad and if brake goin around 40 it wobbles and also get a very slight noise when goin around 40ish

Havnt had a chance to get it to the garage yet. But i still got this wheel wobble really annoying me now. Steering wheel went mental today on way work when i put foot down of roadabout slight left turn and it started wobbling like mad. Would the console bushes cause all of the things iv explained.

Im no expert but console bushes would be more front to back id of thought. Possible a bottom ball joint?

Oops sorry guys didnt mean to post that twice

I get slight wheel/brake wobble when braking. Replacing my shagged rear discs and pads got rid of most of it but it still remains slightly.

I have this issue but never constantly, it was really bad after it had been.in for something on front end took it back and it was stripped an cleaned up but no cause found, but it solved the bad issue.

Had it on acceleration for first time in a while yesterday, thought it had been cured by putting new rainsports on a few months back it but to no avail. How are the tyres? Have you checked pressures, I know it sounds simple but I'm sure it comes back when mine are low.

are the wheel nuts tightened up or contact previous owner and ask if they had same problem. worth a try.

Its from a garage. I got a local garage to have a look today. Told me my console bushes were shagged and showed me how much movement they had was really bad he checked ball joints brakes driveshafts and all was fine. So he recommended changing the console bushes to seat uprated ones and getting tracking done. I also rang the garage i brought the car from and they said they wud fix it and give me a loan car

Let us know is that fixes it, as I've been thinking of doing my bushes and will be more likely too if it cures your issues.

Sorry to hijack but is there a way of telling if they're shagged without taking to a garage?

Buckled wheel me thinks, that or out of balance quite badly.

good news to hear that they will carryout the fix, customer care is highly thought of.

Rock the wheel front to back and if there is movement its either front or rear bush or both.
