How did you fit the usb lead in the bottom glove did you have to drill a hole? And when I piggy back the fuse which fuse is best to go off ?

My next question would be how do ypu change the background picture?

DMilleaVRS

Mine is connected to the wiper fuse,

You don't have to drill any holes,

As the small glove box has no lid so its just drops in,

All i had to do was split the 3 input cables,

Because i wanted them going to different locations,

Ive attached a screen short from a PDF on how to change the background,

Hope it helps

Think I've got everything might have to buy a new piggy back fuse though unless I can get away with the large one

You could wire the rest if it doesn't fit and then add the piggy back fuse at the end. I know it's a pain and you can't test it, but at least the easiest bit would be the only thing left

Before I pull this bolero out I cannot find any where about the code for it obviously if I disconnect it it will need the security code inputted but I dont have a clue where it is, it states in the manual that its equipped with a convenience coding says the codes stored in the instrument cluster and manual code is normally not necessary...what does it mean by that. ...sorry to sound lame

DMilleaVRS

No you don't need a code if it came with the car.

So if it is the original bolero and all im doing is putting it back in it shouldn't need a code?

  • 1 month later...

Hi, I notice according to the fitting instructions that the kit comes with a mute wire - is there a mute connection on the HU/harness for the Octy? Thanks in advance.

Redjay: What headunit have you got?

I've got a 'swing radio' on a 12 plate - base model no volume control on stalk or aux etc. From what I can gather the radio is a rebadged RCD 310 made by delphi.

Cheers

In that case:

(connector 4, pin 10)

I had (still have in a box) an RCD 310 with a Nokia car kit in and it worked ok. Also wired the car kit output to the input so the sound came from the h/u (no need to fine a space for the speaker ;) )

You'll need the connector and some repair wires to make the install easy (No more than a tenner from a dealer). I honestly can't remember whether it's the blue connector or the green one you'd need.

Thanks Rainbowfire. I've ordered an SOT cable for the ISO and quadlock harnesses, and a piggyback mircofuse for the switched power. Hopefully all the kit will be here for Saturday and I can have a day that is relatively frustration free...
