Drivers Window regulator

Featured Replies

Hi all

Sadly it would appear my Window mechanism is goosed.  Upon reading on here and seeing the mammoth task there is before me, i am leaning towrds a new regulator instead of the repair kits available on flea bay.

The only regulators I can see doesn't include "comfort setting".  Is this part of the regulator or is it controlled by the motor?? Just seems a little odd that its mechanical other than electrical??

Please help as i am aiming to do this repair early next week and need to order the parts ..

Thanks in advance

Martin

Are you sure its the regulator?

I had the same issue recently, albeit with a rear window and the dealer prepared me for the worst (a new regulator - £200) but as it happens all it needed was a replacement rivet (£0.36)!

The biggest cost was the labour ro remove the door card and the pop-riveted metal panel to be able to reach everything...

Yea definitely. Some little.. Erm.. Person decided he want to get into my car using a brick. When window repairer blokey came he pointed out that subsequently the regulator has been damaged too and motor had chewed up the wires. He said repair kit on flea bay would work, but seen bad reviews.
