Di Resta may get his cousin Dario's seat in Indy Car. Dario still wants to mentor and help out with the team so would be perfect.

  • Ron Dennis back!

Wasnt he reigning DTM champ when he left?

Apart from when he crashed out  :giggle:

True, was it his car they had the impressive slow motion shot of Maldonado smacking into at the back of the start/finish straight in Spa?

I'd like to see Di Resta join the FIA WEC, he has a good mix of experience between racing in touring cars and open top cars at the top level although I don't know if there's any decent seats up for grabs there.

Still no word on other Sauber driver though - Sirotikin is not ready for F1 yet despite the potential for bringing in lots of money to the team

Why does Andrew Benson keep pushing this idea of Alonso going back to McLaren?

in his latest article:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/25400798

he links back to a previous story describing "Mclaren trying to sign Alonso"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula-one/24171278

but when you actually read it, all it says is that Whitmarsh was asked if he would like Alonso to drive for McLaren, he said

"yes - and so would every other team because he's a very good driver, but he's under contract",

and NOT "yes, and I'm trying my hardest to make that happen"

Because he's a journalist and a (choose your own)

Well someones got a quote from Ron Dennis saying he would be happy to have Alonso back. He's most likely being lined up for Jensons seat if at all but my guess is its just rumour mill stuff.

Gutierrez now confirmed as second driver with Sauber. The potential plan of having a "paid" Russian driver in Sergey Sirotkin failed as he was unable to obtain his super-licence.

Only Marussia and Caterham left to announce their line ups.

Caterham stays the same, doesn't it ?

Who knows Paul007? It was Pic and Van Der Garde this year but there are a couple of "others" in the frame including a return for Kobayashi

Marussia only need to find one driver as Bianchi has already been confirmed for 2014.

I like Kamui!

Max CHilton retains his seat at Marussia and will drive alongside Bianchi.

Just Caterham left to confirm.

Maximillions Chilton what a surprise!

Thoughts are with Jenson tonight. John Button was a legend.

Yeah surprisingly I was quite shocked and upset by the news he seemed a really nice genuine bloke who did everything possible to ensure his sons future in the sport. I think at least he got to see his son become world champion which must have been a very proud moment. Still a sad day for all the buttons and fans.

I'm feeling more upset at his passing than I thought I'd be. Definition of the cool F1 dad who gave everything for his son's career and supported him every day

I'm surprised nobody requested 69 dudes!

I'm expecting a bunch of BO77AS merchandising will get released

"Niko Hulkenburg running 27" - That's one big pair of boots he's looking to fill.

Back in the day Jenks wrote:-

"Alain Prost - Reaching the hill.

Alan Jones - On the hill.

Gilles Villeneuve - He is the hill."

Oh and that's not the first prediction of BO77AS merchandise I've seen.

Ron Dennis back!

Ron Dennis back!

I Would say that means they have found some big improvement in the car and he wants to take the credit. :giggle:

Think it signals some serious intent from McLaren - follows their worst season for 30 years and with a new young driver coming in perhaps they think they will return to winning ways.

To be fair I liked Whitmarsh he's very good PR man always knew the right thing to say whilst being truthful. But I don't think he was probably tough enough to get the team to put in 100% where as big Ron doesn't suffer fools has epic OCD and wont take no for an answer.
