Time Flies ... and the lease contract ends....

Featured Replies

Well my time as a Yeti driver has now come to an end.

It is now three years ago that I took delivery of my Snow Beast..

I decided on the Yeti after a period of intense investigation, test drive and reliance on the sage advice and reviews on these forums.

However the bugger held its value too much and I couldn't afford the buy out..

My firms car leasing scheme, which was heavily subsidised has also changed so put a replacement Yeti in reach.. but financially uncomfortably.

I will miss being able to wave at the other Yeti drivers I have happened across over the last 3 years ..

Selfishly a part of me is really glad that it is only about 5, such is the elusive (exclusive) nature of the Yeti.

It has been a head turner, the only car I have ever had that I have been stopped, on numerous occasions, to be asked on what it is like to drive etc.

During the last 3 years, we have had some great snow fall.. ok it was only for a few days each year.. but the 4x4 beast didn't put a foot wrong.

And for a few hours each day it was the only car in the firms car park and a fine sight it made.

Whoever buys my Yeti will be getting a fantastic, beautiful car.

Just hope they have the manners to wave at the others.

So back in June, I found myself taking stock of my requirements.. change in family circumstances.. did my research of the whole market..

Worked out I was looking for just a run around, no need for such a big car..

Did test drives ... went to the same in-depth research that I did that ended my up with the Yeti.

So although it is goodbye to this Yeti forum, it will be a Big Hello to the Citigo forum.

A Citigio Sport (Red) is on order as a factory build and should be with me early October.

It was intended to be through the works lease car scheme, but on seeing the dealer for a test drive they offered such a good deal..

So although I am extremely disappointed to see the Yeti go, I am also excited to be getting another, perhaps what some would call a "qwerky" car.

Didn't intentionally set out to drive another Skoda Badge but they certainly build the motors that tick all the boxes.

Happy motoring folks!

Hey Chaz!  You're only moving a page or two up the Briskoda forums!  Enjoy the Citigo  :hi:

Hey Chaz, you'll always be welcome here and I hope you give us a 'look in' once in a while. ;)

As a previous Yeti owner you'll be able to give us useful insight to how the Citigo fits your new status. I suspect some of us here are considering the Citigo as a second car.

Come back and tell us please

Fred

Err no.....As a FIRST car.

Still considering a base spec Citigo as my main car. Not sure that I can justify 2 cars though. Wifey doesn't need one, but daughter would want me to, if she knew I was thinking about it, so she could nick it

We looked at the CitiGo when it came to changing my lads then gracefully ageing Fabia Mk1, last year. Price was off-putting, so we picked up another base model Fabia just into it's third year with average miles and saved 3+k.

M daughter bought the Citigo and loves it. The no brainier which sealed the deal for us was the cheap insurance and running cost.

Her pug106 was costing her £1500 a year to insure, plus all the repair bills and road tax.

The Citigo costs £400 to insure, has nil road tax and a 3 year warranty.

She also saves a shed load on petrol as its at least twice as economical.

Add that it's such fun to drive, even in 60ps guise, and you've got yourself a cracker :)

The yeti is my every day car but i'll pinch the Citigo if I get the chance.
