These tints cost me an arm & a leg, but it was worth it. They're made in the USA, and they're 80% heat deflective, but they don't obstruct your vision from inside. The cheap ones I had before these did obstruct my vision, and coz' they were cheap, they started changing colour. The cheap stuff lasts only 7 months. So I went for these instead. Expensive, but I've got 3 years warranty. Who's gonna complain?

They are completely transparent from inside (even at night, even in complete darkness...then again in complete darkness you can't see so that was pointless), it is only from outside when the sun hits it that it becomes opaque i.e. it reflects the light and deflects heat. On a normal day where the sun doesn't hit the wondows directly it becomes transparent from outside too.

The benefits of these are as follows:

1) The risk of being pulled over by the cops has been minimised by 100%. These tints are more transparent than Taiwanese 30% tints.

2) The chance of passing MOT inspection with these is very positive. With my previous tints, which were 50% (but were very light-reflective, hence opacity from outside was almost 100%) at MOT, I was told to remove them.

3) I don't have to worry about changing them in 7 months, and should anything go wrong with them, I have warranty to cover it.

4) Usually tint masters have a problem fitting the boot window tint on properly, and usually they cut the piece into two and install it, resulting in a line across the window. With these guys, they stuck it on as one piece. Very professional work.

5) The car looks much nicer.

6) I have some good level of privacy ( :naughty: )

Nice eh?

hmmm -graeme - did they cut ur rear one to fit it?

Yup. It was done indoors, in AC, with a marker lining out the frame, then cut out, and then stuck on with a special soap/water combination or something and a hot-air gun.

Just before the TT Comp's go on.............. :D

Fab16v, is that a vRS or a 16v 1.4? It looks real good man:)

It is a vRS. I had a modded 1.4 16v before hence the user name. ;)

190 quid seems very good to me. Mine was a bit more than that.

thats the one.... what grade are they? medium or full darkies?

u got ur front ones done too?

Not sure if it's just me, but I think black hatchbacks with only rear tints that are very dark can look a bit van-like!

Anyone else agree?

Are they Sun Guard, 3M or Madico? Do you have a pic inside of your car?

I THINK they're sun guard...can't remember the name...I'll take a pic tomorrow of inside, it is VERY clear, even at night. I guess that's one of the reasons they're expensive. GBP200 worth here, which means it would cost somethin' like GBP 300 there considering the exhange rate and value difference there.

like the wheels on the vrs. are they from a TT?

Which vRS?

Yeah TT Competition alloys

It depens in which part of the world you are....:) Mine were about 140 quid....

yeh the fronts are done too. Front two are a medium charcoal tint and the rear 3 are dark charcoal tint.

Wheels on are on...................

Hmm. Really must get mine done. Looking already a lot like Jobo's - just missing the tints ;)

I'd be even more interested if it does help it stay cool in the summer. It's sooooooo hot now, and I thought the heat was mostly due to the car being black...

Look. The tints WILL keep your car much cooler than without them...but being black, do NOT be surprised if the air still feels too light when you get in the car after being parked in the sun. The black really is a factor here. If te Fabia was white with tints, it would be soooooo much cooler than a black car.

Mind you, tints DO work very well. To make a comparison, put one hand against the window with tint and one hand under your windshield when the light is shining through...you will feel a big difference...

Good luck!

mil i think your car would benefit greatly from new wheels looks wise, other than that its pretty much spot on :)

and yes, tints are cool(in both ways), am planning on getting mine done in a little while when money permits

You don't like my wheels?? :(

Man, now I gotta save for wheels. Anyone got second hand vRS wheels they wanna sell for real cheap? Send it over.

I just ordered rear spacers too.

its not that i dislike your wheels mate, just think they look a little small and your car's looks(and handeling depending on what wheels you were to get) would improve a lot, in my opinion obviously :)

In the UK, when it is cool outside, you can rely on the windows steaming up for that!

It would improve, especially if I got wider wheels...but the car is getting old (she may not look it :D) and I don't want to bother spending so much money to buy new wheels when I know her time is not very far away :(

Maybe if I win the Mashreq Millionaire draw I'll consider getting funky wheels, AND I'll super upgrade her...and I'll buy myself a bike :D

its not that old is it

She will be 3 years old in Feb 22 next year...in this country, with the way people buy cars, that's an age. I don't want to sell her...we'll see...I probably will keep her for the next two years...you really think I should change my wheels?

Yeh, keep the car, but make her look the part! Are they 15" wheels your running at the moment? In my opinion i would get rid of them and fit a set of 17's as they fill the arches so much better than even the standard vRS 16" wheels, but at the end of the day, the decision is yours!! :D

(Take a look at my gallery, that might persuade you  )
