Regular oil changes are the key to stop things like this, old oil starts to sludge up oil galleries and sump pick up`s 

And quality oil too

hi all sorry for not being on for a while but been busy.  the problem is still present but i am not really using the car at the mo.  it has now had a new strainer, new oil pump and new pressure sensor and still no solution, just purchased a oil pressure gauge so gonna plug that up so i can see exactly what is going on. does anyone know he correct operational pressure

gunked up pressure relief valve?

i believe the pressure relief valve is on the oil pump but please let me know if this is not the case

Does anybody have the part No's for the oil pick-up and O ring to hand.

 

My Octy RS is going into AP Automotive (Telford) tomorrow to have the cambelt/waterpump done, I think I'll ask Ant to do the pick up at the same time (got all the tools and knowledge but to cold and to lazy to do it myself!).

May be tempted to get a generic Shark performance Stage 2 remap done as well, but don't tell my wife   .
