Show me your uprated brakes

Featured Replies

Looking to replace my Brakes from 334mm R32 Front Brakes to something more meaty..

(After getting brake fade, playing with a Carrera S4)

Not really looking for 4 pot brembos..looking at 6 pots...

Anyone fitted any..if so got a picture or two?

And what size discs are you using??

Cheers in advance.

Wouldn't rule out 4pots there prob the best size for our master cylinders

I know 2 guys that ran 6 pots on track cars and have fine back to running LCr brembos

Tarox 6 pots with single piece 323mm LCR discs....£1200 kit,but I got them for £1000 from awesome Gti at the summer bash 2yrs ago!

They are very good brakes, some say no better than LCR brembos though? I wouldn't know having never used the brembos!

I did get a spongey pedal after the second session at Combe yesterday though :-(

Lcr brembos

Good discs and pads. Awesome setup and are straight there soon as you touch the pedal. No extra travel.

Loved mine and more than capable

I had the Tarrox 6 pots on my daily runabout vrs.

And I have 4 pot brembo's from an LCR on the track car.

Both use same discs and pads.

The pedal feel was better from the brembo's which is why I kept them and sold the Tarrox kit.

Where would you go about getting a set of LCR Brembos?

I assume you can paint them green. :D

Billy had green ones :)

Looked awesome, but i can never find brembos when i have funds lol

But id want shiny clean ones :D

last one

They look smart Billy,

Where did you get them?

got the callipers and carriers off ebay then spent a few weeks totally rubbing them down and sorting them out, masked off the pistons and had some paint mixed up at the local paint place to match the vRS calliper colour.  took a lot of prep on the callipers but got there.

also had the carriers blasted too and painted them lol.

was all so the car looked like new again but ended up breaking her instead.

gutted!

How much should I be expecting to pay for some LCR Brembo's?

D2 brake kit.  On my fabia but were sold to me as octy mk1 brakes.  I love 'em.  They took some bedding in on track, but they beat my old LCR Brembos for sure.

Came from corbymotorsport website.  Was the best value source I could find for this kit.

This compares the brake pad size of the D2 kit, to the LCR brembos below it.  More surface area. :D

Sorry off-topic - but how do you find the MA Z1's ?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ very good for the money they cost. :)

I'm liking the look of the D2s...

Did you get or get fade on the track?

I'm thinking of steering away from brembos..I have hade fade with them before, and don't want to buy twice..

brembo 4 pots get my vote, fade can be down to loads of things including the pads/your fluid the exact calipers you were using. What calipers, pads and fluid were you using?

gts/lcr brembo are epic with ds2500....no fade at all

OEM pads were used..std brembos on a LCR.

Not sure of fluid.

the oem pads lack bite sadly...the ds2500 more than makes up for this, 4 pots with the right pads and fluid are more than good enough for a modded octy!
