Random bong....

Featured Replies

Question to owner of a FL vRS.......

Whilst cleaning the car over the weekend I kept on hearing a random bong after 30 mins.....Now the radio was off....nothing was plugged in to the 12v sockets and the keys were on the dash and not in the ignition..... I had this ages ago but no warning lights come up on the dash.... I did hear it coiuld be a battery warning..... Now its 3 years old and the battery looks in good nick.....haven't tried the Voltage test yet.....any body else had this....

I used to get this when I cleaned the interior of the car after my week on at work. I took it as a warning the battery was getting low, as it had not been getting used enough to charge the battery fully.

I haven't heard it now that I use the car more regularly.

Mine does it too and I'm pretty sure it's battery related. My battery seems to show just under 12v and between 13.8 and 14.1 with the engine running - I would have expected that to be more like 14.5 and wondering if the battery is going to need replacing soon.

I had a feeling it would be battery related. I think maybe i will pop and get a new one before the winter sets in....

It is a strange one if im honest......got it a couple of months back and it did it then whilst i was playing the radio during cleaning the car.....then once in poland i had a random alarm go off......never again since......Only last weekend bong went off again........will be getting a cheap volt meter this weekend for other purposes and will test.....

Never knew you'd get a bong for low battery - there you go!

I've managed to drain the battery a couple of times with CANBUS controller tweaking and gateway issues, and never had this. Would have been useful actually, so I knew I'd got it wrong before the battery completed drained!
