Ss winter grill cover for bumper

Featured Replies

Has anybody tried, used or have any opinions on having one fitted?

There have been threads on this in the past 2 years for sure. Some more extreme climate Briski owners have good experience of them. Main benefit I think was that you could attain running temps much more quickly in the sold seasons. I think they look surprisingly well too.

the new focus has active ones fitted, it's suppose to help to make the car more fuel efficient

Not every model, I have 10 Focus's in work (6 weeks old) none have this :( . I did check as I had seen it on an advert. Think it's only the eco ones perhaps? The Ford one isn't for winter specifically but for reducing drag for better mpg etc.

Anybody got a part number for me to order from a Skoda dealer?

My diesel sometimes doesn't warm up in the winter on my whole 20mile commute! Or I actually see the coolant gauge go down if it's cold enough and I'm not putting a load on the engine!

Thanks for all the info,I think I'm persuaded to get one but not sure yet to get a cover for top or bottom grill

I looked at these before. my worry was I don't know if the Scottish winter was harsh enough to justify it? Don't want overheating issues :(

Can't see it recouping the outlay really.

Id wouldnt buy one for eco reasons, although octy has a massive dragging hole that is the bonnet grill, bumper one not so much drag. I would get one for it to warm up quicker in winter which technically also better for fuel but id get one to save freezing my nipples off for first 20 miles in winter. That is worth it alone to me.

Not such as issue with proper fuel ;)

Thanks. Ordered one of these off the bay. My engine just doesn't warm up in the winter. It's just too dam economical ;)

I sold mine after a while. Not because it wasn't useful, but because I had a 5 kW petrol powered heater installed. No more temp issues since then. :D

The parts guy at the dealer told me it's fine to keep the upper grille covered in fall, winter and spring. If you cover the lower grille as well, you need to keep an eye on the gauge.

I think just a cover for the top grill will be ok here but wondered if skoda has it's own part for this

I don't think so. My dealer sold me the exact same part that Superskoda has.

Or even attain running temps at all  :)  Anything below -12°C and I never get to 90°C. Mine was bought locally here, it's flexible and very quick to install, using sprung clips supplied. Am very happy with it. I don't know what the recommended temperature zone is for use, but I usually remove mine when temps go plus side and don't usually fit it again until it's below -10°C

Aerodynamics enhancing, warmer engine and retains original look:

Some well placed cling film!

Has anyone had probs registering and purchasing from the Heko website?

I have tried till I am sick of trying.

Anyone with an account who could help me order a top grille for my FL Octavia would be a real massive help, I can send them a cheque for the required amount , taking account Exchange rates, and when it was cleared into their account they could order the item for me delivered to my home address of course.

I know this is a cockeyed way maybe but I can't think of any other, any advice very gratefully received,

Order from eBay. Mine came in a few days. Keep forgetting to do a photo.
