Rant [ON]

When it comes to parking I am what most people would refer to as a ****.

Reason why? I always take up 2 spaces.

I do it on purpose so that I don't get any dents in my doors.

Today the carpark at the local supermarket was rammed I had no choice but to risk it, and guess what?

Yey I got a ****ing dent in the door.

Well **** you!

Rant [OFF]

Sorry needed to vent.

That's karma that is  :p

Happens to us all. Just had a quote of £500 to fix what my fat arsed former neighbour done to mine :(

Taking up two spaces is just selfish.

Just park further away or on an end space.

Or just sell the car and take the bus.

Twice in last couple weeks I have gone and parked miles from everyone else and both times come back and found cars on both sides. One time there were at least 6 empty spaces either side yet these people had to park right next to me.

Despise people who take up two spaces.

I leave the car at home and take the van. I couldn't give a toss about that.

Job done, I even drove the van to Gatwick last week for our holiday, not least

because I had it valet parked away from the airport, so a complete stranger

met us in the short stay car park and drove away in it after we had unloaded

our bags. It's so crap he won't want to go joyriding in it and I don't care where it's

parked so long as he's there with it when we get back and I don't receive any

parking or speeding tickets after the time they have it.

Strong words there.

I feel sorry for those that think they have to park between 2 white lines just because there painted on the floor.

I'm sorry but I have two kids as well, and people who park irresponsibly are selfish. There's no excuse for it. If you don't want your car at risk of being damaged don't take it out. Unfortunately there are careless people out there. Nothing you can do about it. I do understand how you want to 'protect' you car, but parking at the end far away does help. It's what I do. Park on the line at the end if you have to as long as it doesn't obstruct other road users.

LOL there is nothing irresponsible about wanting to protect my car and others quite the opposite infact.

Everything else aside, most people obey the laws and road signs. "No stopping except within marked bays" is just that, so no need to feel sorry for us, we are just following the rules.  :bandit:

As far as the argument goes, I use the "park next to the nicest/most looked after car" method for avoiding dents. This might be why you find people parked next to you, they see your motor looking all shiny and looked after so know their car will be safe, take it as a compliment. I personally cant park across 2 spaces because 1, I cant afford the fines, which would often out weigh the cost of a dent repair and 2, I'd look a total ****. :D

If someone is purposely parking next to you to dent your car then I dont think the insignificant white line would stop them.

Don't shop at ****ty Tescos then lol

Seriously though, I don't shop there as they pack the cars in like sardines, like the customers too...hence problem with doors etc, so can't blame you for the parking TBH.....

We shop at Aldi.........

I always park as far away as possible but you can guarantee someone will park next to you. I don't take up 2 spaces but I do try and park away from anyone else or next to a nice car but then you find when you come back the nice car has gone and there's a shed next to you lol. I take my Mrs fez bomb into town now so I don't have to worry

I always take up two spaces. Don't care what people think of me haha

If i had a ferrari etc i would but we drive skodas just park in the lines. I also hate people who take up two spaces, fair enough if it was in a very large not busy car park and its at the far end but when you want to pop to the shops and some tool is taking up two and its pretty busy you just think what an utter knob especially if its in 3 grands worth of everyday car. I park my car in the lines where ever i can find a space (obviously not next to the gimps who sit on the white line) and never been hit. Will report back tomorrow once ive been hit by jynxing myself saying ive not been hit :D

Quite sad really. Its only a bloody skoda ffs  :giggle:

Unless someone fancies paying the bill for the last time I got hit in a car park then I'll continue :p

I really worry when I park my old Rover that'll I'll come back and find someone has hit it and straightened a panel out for me :D

try and park next to cars which are clean or expensive, or Just damage the persons car if its still there simples or wait for them to come back

This can be defensive... After all, if I park next to another car, it limits the muppets that can hit my car to one. Also, if I park next to a nice or well maintained car, I have a feeling the driver's likely consciencious.

Had an issue on Friday - came back to the car to find a 4x4 thing next to mine that had "concrete kisses" on both sides, looked like it'd had issues with walls or posts not cars. Noticed a big white mark on the nearside door of my Fabia - depression :( . Turned out to be a bit of plastic flash from someone's tesco bag - elation :)

Idiots and kids will open doors into yours. The idiots more usually drive knackered eScrotes with rusty door ends to further their muppety. Short of inflatable "parking bumpers" or "save my paint" airbags, what can you do?

Gotta be honest, this does my head in when I see it done close to a place. I often envisage myself parking next to their drivers door so close that they can't get in at all! This would be fun.... but ultimately a bit childish!

Unfortunately it's just the luck of the draw I'm afraid. We all have to deal with it! I once had my old car keyed about a month after I had it all re-sprayed for no reason to my knowledge... :-/  Just had to accept it and get it sorted. This is apparently the trouble with owning a nice car....  In an ideal world I'd just have a shed as well, but can't justify the costs just to avoid me using mine normally - I bought it to drive it not to just look at it!!!

The thing is you might say oh its only a £3k car get over it but at the end of the day I work hard to have this car and what may be a £3k car to some is a expensive car to me and the main point is wether its a £250 scrapper or a £250k super car people should have some respect for other people's property, be abit like me just going round there house and walking across there flowers in the gardens. The other week I parked up in morrisons with the wife and she was on the phone and a 4x4 parked up at the side of me and opened his door onto the wife's fez bomb. If it had been my car we would of scrapping until he went to the cash point and handed me some cash but since it was hers I waited for him to walk off and smashed my door into his 4x4 a few times causing some nice damage. This is now the attitude I take if your happy to open your door on mine I'm going to smash mine into yours

What's a fez bomb?
