New Sub Forum - Thoughts?

Featured Replies

There seems to be a few small/general problems with citigos. To help people read up on these and ensure they can find good information on how to fix/solve/resolve with the dealer, should there be a sub forum dedicated to these?

Interested to hear people's thoughts on your question fella

Personally speaking, I don't think people make enough use of the search facility to find things out.

A lot dive straight in with questions that have probably been answered several times before

However, if some kind of sub-forum is what people would like, Im happy to try and sort something out, or more likely a sticky with reported problems noted.

Cheers

I don't think there's a dedicated fault forum for all the other models

Your right Bry

Thats why I though maybe a sticky if needed

A common fault section

One thing to bear in mind is that a lot of Citigo owners will be first time Skoda owners and quite possibly first time car owners too.

However, I'm inclined to think that stickies are more appropriate, I agree with Damo in the fact that a lot of people don't bother to use the search facilities.

One of the Ford forums has a wiki compiled by the members with various bits of info. It can probably be found searching for fordwiki.

Hi folks, in the classic section on here (favorits felicia's etc) we just have a thread that is pinned at the top with common problems and issues in.

I think that maybe a whole sub forum entitled " stuff wrong with my citigo" or similar might put off potential owners from buying one.

there is a possible downside to this whole concept though, we rely on user submitted data which makes it inherently flawed, so somebody needs to be in charge of colating and verifying any entries.

A locked sticky with issues alphabetically listed will be more practical

Reading through the comments, I agree with a sticky. I wouldn't want to put people off a citigo as I love my new car. It would be more for:

"Hey, this happened......why?!?!?"

Reply

"This is the solution/relax it's normal"

And if sticky, people could find it easily.

I vote for this, like a Citigo FAQ

A pinned thread with a list common faults gets my vote too. I'm hoping it should be a short thread though!

Ok.

Looks like I need to get creating then :)

One last aside, any thoughts on combining the stickies of DRL upgrades and Wind Deflectors into a popular mods sticky instead?

Otherwise I can envisage the first entire page of the citigo forum made entirely of stickies :D

Cheers

Damo

Popular mods seems a good idea. I also agree that people post rather than do a search for a similar/same thread although the search engine can be quite vague.

I would suggest 'Issues concerning some Citigo's' rather than faults as some have not been identified as actual faults? and that may put off some prospective buyers?

Good point re the common concerns. Duly noted

Ok

Drafted up something like, so hit me with your thoughts and anything you feel could be bettered/ included etc.

Also need some content, so feel free to send me a PM

Cheers

Damo :)

I think a two pronged attack

a sticky titled something like "new owners start here"

with common questions like how to set up PID, what does this message mean, how do I turn off stop start etc

and

a 2nd sticky "citigo common questions / FAQ"

with more in depth questions and may be a few links to threads included

I'm not adverse to creating sub forums. The direction I'm following is owner zones, each model is different and attracts a different type of handling.

As such what is done in other forum zones; e.g. octavia, is now no longer directly relevant to this citigo zone.

In the past it was as I tried to keep the zones uniform to aid navigation etc.

It's up to Damo, me; colind testing, so work out what will or won't work in the citigo zone. So don't hold back :)
