I'm interested if it's after schools have gone back (ie mid-September or early October), might want to stretch it into a fortnight's holiday to make all the driving worthwhile. Might be using ferry from Hull to Rotterdam/Amsterdam, or a Newcastle route, get a good night's kip! 

Anyone can advise on ferries?  And is there a routefinder that doesn't stop at Hull?  AA Routefinder wouldn't play ball....!

check out our last years czech trip, we did the ferries, did 10 days (sept) was lovely weather, and we stopped at the ring on the way home for a weekend

Sorry, but Doksy meeting in august was big flop. Visit better meeting in Žamberk in last week august.

I come back from holiday just before the last week of August so that works very well for me! ('selfish mode' is currently enabled for this post!)

I think Sept seems the best month for most people....

Must say having done this trip its great fun but seriously driving to the ferry its only a 2-3 trip and then driving all the way to Prague on your own is not a great idea, its a long time for someone to be driving alone.

Personaly while doksy was ok I wouldn't time the trip especially around it.

That's probably good advice. This would be equal to what I do from Barcelona or the Italian Lakes to calais each year so around 12-13 hours with fuel stops at a guess - its pretty heavy going for one. I'm certainly still interested and may end up being sensible and sharing the drive.

So a list of 20 or so interested parties works for me.

I'll do some research over the coming weeks and look to firm up a date.

With money being tight and unless i get a better paid job by then i gotta pull out carnt afford it on crap wages :(

You doing the factory again? I'll mention this to Dave and see if he fancies it as he missed most of last time (as those present will remember!) so it would be nice to go back and go to the factory as he missed that too!

Will keep an eye on the dates, might tag it on to my annual schlep in the Alps 2007 was certainly full of surprises and enjoyable despite having Tigger as a chauffeur.
