Whilst partaking in Curry & Ale with j0hn t'other evening, the conversation turned to the EPIC Czech Trek of 2007 which spawned the video's below.

 

It got me thinking that it was time I would like to do the trip again.

 

So...... GUESS WHAT?    2014...... :yes:

 

Loose format from memory of 2007 was:-

 

• Meet Midnight @ Dover Ferry Port
• 'Overnight' crossing to Dunkerque (that said DFDS info quotes 2hr crossing so could be an early morning crossing)
• All day drive to arrive in Prague at approx 7pm local time.
• Day trips to Skoda Factory, Mimon Airfield and Doksy International Skoda meet
• Left Prague circa 5am local time to catch early evening ferry back to blighty

Very early stages with no idea of costs etc, but I'd like to gauge interest before committing my precious spare time to organising it.

 

Personal recommendations from the last trip I went on:-

 

1. At least two drivers per car
2. It will cost a few quid in Fuel
3. It's is not an official Briskoda.net event, therefore all at own risk etc!!

IIRC the 2007 trip was billed '5 nights in Prague' so the trip was in essence about 7 days long including travelling for me from Gloucester at the time.

 

I don't see that it needs to be 5 nights TBH, that said it did allow for some days of free time so to speak

We did it for 10 days, that included a weekend at the nurburgring on the way home, and (obviously if you check the pics) the trip coincided with the doksy meet ....

 

I would definatly be up for it again (obviously time dependent , time off work, money issues ect ect , sept would be good like last year, timed with the doksy meet!)

Mimon airfield is a no go as we all got fined for tresspassing last year.

I assume it was an 'official' fine if you catch my drift.

I seem to recall some conversations with our Czech counterparts that sometimes 'on the spot' fines had no paperwork

I'll keep watching. I'm interested either in my car (and will have a spare seat) or as a passenger (petrol costs alone will be expensive in my car  ).
