What tyre?

Featured Replies

I've got a Mk1 Fabia VRS and will soon be needing some front and back tyres, I do about 25k miles a year at the moment so will need something I can rack the miles up on and not need replacing in the next 12k miles. All out handling characteristics aren't necessarily required as it's mainly up and down the motorway, although good braking characteristics are important.

Would welcome any suggestions based on the above.

goodyear efficient grip performance

very quiet, good wet ratings too. fuel economy is also excellent with them too.,

Michelin. You should be able to get well over 25k. We achieved 32k+ on our Octavia

I am a fan of goodyears and they always seemed to last on my previous volvos better than others

Michelin.

Although to be perfectly honest I'm also a fan of Goodyear.

Must me sore sitting on that fence.

Well looking at reviews I'm tempted to go for either Michelin PS3 or Energy.

I've got Falken Ze-914 (and 912) fitted to the wives vRS  and they've been very good. Hard wearing so far and its only in peeing rain with full bore start/upshifts does TC kick in.

They coped well in the snow we've had and aren't too noisey. Will fit ZE-914s to replace the 912s when they need replacing.

Currently rocking PS3s on the Superb and they are god like. Grip where I didn't think it existed, absolutely breath taking. I will more than likely replace like for like.

I've just put 4 Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance tyres on my Superb last week, (225/45 R17). Very impressed so far, very quiet - far quieter than my Michelin Primacy HP's that were on before - and the wet grip this weekend has been great! Cheaper than the Primacy 3's that were my other option too so that was a bonus!

Just the sort of review i'm looking for, i have the exact same size Michelin Primacy HP's on my Korean Slayer and the front have about 3-4mm left and looking to change them before winter, the price to replace is absurd!!, for such an old tyre i couldnt quite believe it.

£130 fitted locally!, Goodyears i can get for £80 fitted and a more modern tyre no doubt.

The Primacy 3 has replaced the HP (the HP replaced the 2).

The primacy 3 is about £100 in most places - less at Costco if you have a card.
