Some Problems with my Skoda Fabia!?!?!?

Featured Replies

just got a skoda fabia 2011 1.6 tdi 105bph with 39'000 miles on it,

its a great car i really like it,

the clutch has some vibration when i press it down,

the clutch does get quiter whens its been warmed up when i press my foot on it,

biting points seems a little high for its age though,

could this be because it is a dual mass fly wheel? i work for a turbo charger recondition company and my boss use to recondition clutchs and he says with a single mass flywheel you biting point is more aless instant when you raise you foot on the clutch sligtly and a dual mass will be alot higher?

that is if mine is a dual mass fly wheel!?!?!?!?

when i am driving along and i go to change gear i will take my foot off the accelerator and when i dip my clutch in you can hear like a hollow vibration noise? only ever so slightly, some times it does it some times it doesnt!?!?!?!?

also the aux port keeps disconneting its self when im listening to music on my phone and goes straight to the radio, anyone else had this?

yeah the last thing that boths me is when i shut my engine down, ill turn it off and about 3 seconds afterward it sounds like someone is shuffling there feet! it does about 4 shuffles and it does it every time!

please help me guys!

should i be worried and go to my car dealer or is it just me being paranoid?

cheers guys.

Hi, not sure about the clutch or the aux issues, however think that the noise when turning off is normal on the newer engines as mine sems to do about four little clicking/ shuffle noises each time it turns off not sure as to its purpose whether its resetting something for next time its started??? Know its the 1.2 tsi and not the tdi but could be something to do with emissions i suppose? but always done it on this Fabia from new 3 years old and up to 35k miles and hopefully will be fine for a lot more. Hope that puts your mind at rest for one issue. David

noise may be pump returning excess fuel to tank or some other electronic gadgetry resetting itself... not a worry. the aux;- is it the port or the cable? try a different one before anything else. clutches can often be "heard' and 'felt' vibrating, just keep an eye (or foot) on it and make sure it does not deteriorate but raise the issue with the seller, if it is under warranty.

Is the aux port the 3.5mm jack port by the hand brake?  Seems strange that would drop out, unless your phone doesn't like being plugged in for music - it is just like plugging speakers into your phone/ipod - you don't get functionalty through the stereo.

If you mean the MDI cable (under the glove box on Monte and other models), then mine drops the ipod link occassionally, but it never goes back to radio, it stays on Aux mode on the stereo and says "no input" or something.

Maybe your stereo doesn't like aux mode.

Clutch - sounds odd - best to get it checked ,as if you run around covering the clutch to remove the vibration/noise, you may wear it quicker.

Shuffling noise - defo a 1.6 CR TDI thing - a bit like the unit moves stuff around in vacuum after you switch off.  I have this engine in my Monte and the wife in her Golf - this weekend in the Golf, we switched off at our destination and the engine was whirring like the fan was on, but it wasn't.  I figured it was doing CR stuff...
