I've been searching high & low for nearly a week to find some decent looking wheels and now I've narrowed it down to 5.

So here are my choices and they are

1. Wolfrace GB Como (Black).

2. Wolfrace GB DH (Silver)

I know ultimately it's my choice, but I've now got so confused with the choices, I need some other opinions to help me along a bit.

Thanks.

Your car specs, please? Color, black option, combi ??

I'd stick with the OEM rims fitted from the factory.

I voted on the basis of you having a dark coloured car.

I saw a white BMW today with black wheels and it looked very nice but the wheels would have looked out of place on a dark coloured car.

Number 4 look nice ...

I forgot to add that these wheels will be fitted to a 220PS, TSI, DSG, Race Blue hatchback with black pack, if that helps you.

These wheels are to be used for winter tyres only.

Looking to get some Continental WinterContact TS 850 225/45 R17 91 or 94H.

I was going to try and get them from Camskill, but unfortunately they don't do them so I'll have to source them elsewhere, probably http://www.oponeo.co.uk/ and I may well try and get a wheel & tyre deal from them.

Number 4's will look lovely with race blue. It seems they only do the 17"'ers in 7.5J width but I think the VRS needs 7J's. Maybe someone with better knowledge can confirm?

From another thread I believe I can have any of these.

225/40 R18 92Y  ->  7,5J x 18 ET51

225/45 R17 91V  ->  7J x 17 ET49

205/50 R17 89V  ->  6Jx17 ET48 (M+S)

Darker wheels tend to look better on lighter coloured cars and vice versa.

I was leaning towards the graphite #4s and although they probably wouldn't look too bad, i think the blue with its metalic finish would be complimented by a silver wheel.

So I'm going for #2

I'm also having this exact same problem! I'd got it down to between 1 & 4, plus there's some new BBS 5 spokes in grey that are nice! http://www.rimstyle.com/alloywheels/detail/?car_model_id=1144&specs=QkJTUi1EMTctVzc1LVA1MTEyLUU0NS1DQjgyMDAtR01sQkJTUi1EMTctVzc1LVA1MTEyLUU0NS1DQjgyMDAtR01sMTdsNy41MGw3LjUwbDVsMTEybE5sNDVsNDVsRGxEbGxsbDEybDEybDYxOS4wMGwxNTQuNzVsMTU0Ljc1bDE1NC43NWwxNTQuNzU=&usage=winter

I like 1 because I think the black wheels will compliment the black pack very nicely, but the grey/anthracite colour would be good too. I'm just not sure whether it would add 1 colour too much, blue, black & then the wheels?

Where were you looking to buy from? I've seen some good looking deals on alloys, curious to see what you've found & whether the 17's will fit!!

Cheers

Mark

I've been looking on Ebay, oponeo, rimstyle, alloywheels.com amongst others.

I won't be spending more than £500 on the wheel rims as the tyres are over that.

Nice rims by the way. Just out of my price range.

They're not bad, you can save yourself £87 by getting the same thing from oponeo.

My dad has the Dezent REs on his Superb in 16" for winter. The OE Lunas on his car are made by ATS.

Oh and I think he picked the Dezents specifically because they're TUV certified.

Each to their own but i think the standard anthracite geminis are nicer than all. If i were considering shelling out ob wheels at all would be 19" xtremes. Might consider a nice set of real BBS CH's otherwise as they are a lovely wheel.

Not worth spending ££££ on Xtremes, CHs, etc for WINTER wheels IMO.

I most certainly wouldn't consider paying silly money for wheels (£500+), especially for winter use.

I'm looking at spending a maximum of £115 per wheel, preferably a bit less that £100. I'm just now really torn between the Wolfrace GB DH's & ATS Radials in Graphite.

Well after much toing & froing, I have decided to order the ATS Radials in Graphite, I was seriously considering the second choice in the poll result of the Wolfrace GB DH's, which were a few quid cheaper, but I wasn't completely sure about the silver against the striking blue of the vRS,

So I have now ordered a set of 4 this afternoon from Oponeo for £440 delivered.

Thanks for your advice.  :thumbup:

Any chance you can post some pictures of the ATS wheels on your vRS?
I've got a new vRS on the way & want to buy some winter wheels & tyres at the end of this season to try to get a discount on the tyres.

I can't decide between Anzio Vision Graphite or the Dezent TE (Silver or Dark).

These both look quite similar to the ATS wheel you chose though so will compare them on price here in Switzerland.

I think the ones you ordered will look good, but as we have seen on another thread, silver really sits nice with race blue, I personally would have gone for silver wolfrace on your list for your car colour.

That said ... how much does a set of Gemini's in silver cost from the dealer ?

Only if you have aftermarket wheels you will need to notify the insures and likely pay extra, with another set of stock wheels you wouldn't ...

Nice choice....

But... you may need to tell your insurance company that you have change the rims

As they are not standard ones

I asked and they've made a note that I have winter tyres & different rims on until the spring (March ?) when they'll revert to the standard wheels.

Now considering changing the tyres that came with the car for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric's, which I had on a previous car and were brilliant, very grippy, very quiet and lasted until I changed the car.

What I'll do with the Continental tyres that are on there I don't know, as they only had about 200 miles on them.
