Featured Replies

Well you may have read by now my 'Congestion Farce' thread, where I got stung to the tune of

James they say they come in 3's, lets hope if it does happen its not a big one :(

For a parking fine was you parked somewhere you shouldn't have been?

Don't start me on wardons in london  Trying to park a truck to do deliverys is a nightmare  I'm luckey as my company pay the fines

Heard on the radio about a van driver, who pulled over in Westminster to observe the Two minite silence was givern a ticket for stopping on Double yellow's

Still it's all part of the fun of driving in London :D

Dont get me started on driving in London full stop. :D

No my parking was fine, altough its a bit sketchy on pay and display around Milton Keynes, some parts are free at the weekends others arnt.

Unfortunatly one side of the road was free, the other wasn't, although the big 'Free parking at the weekends' sign sort of misled me...

I could fight it but no doubt it will amount to a waste of time, one of which I can't be botherd with this week :)

I dont belive that, as I can confirm I saw 2 wardens observing the silence with everybody else at the bottom of Kensington Church St. The cars were all stationary wherever they were at 10pm dead...and that meant some were stopped in the middle of the road, or like me pulled over on double yellows.

Aww mate - that's ****.

I got a ticket whilst parked outside my flat. The road is free but its one of those where you have to park half on the pavement, half on the road. I was about two or three inches over the line, and the warden gave me a ticket. And he photographed my car.

So now when the warden is out on my road and I am bored, I go out and photograph him. He really, really doesn't like it and throws a ridiculous childish sulk.

Yeah, contesting it will amount to nothing.

I got a fine through the post telling me my company car was in a no-car lane at 17:00 on a certain day last year. They asked me to confirm who was driving, so I filled out the form saying I couldn't. In the 'why can't you tell us' section, I explained that I couldn't tell them who was driving as the car was parked in the office car park and I (the only keyholder) was in a meeting until 18:00, and I had a number of other attendees who could prove it.

I got a nice letter back saying 'your comments are noted, now pay up or we're taking you to court, where our traffic warden will say you were there and you'll get viciously shafted over a barrel'

UK law. I love it.

I was reading in the local paper MK News the other day that most of the meters in Milton Keynes display the incorrect time which invalidates the tickets issued by wardens although I don't think any official action has been taken as it is being investigated it looks like quite a few people should be getting a refund or action dropped.

I also read in the samne paper that due to a legal loophole alot of the spaces in MK where you have to pay are now free until the end of July. It was only a small article so not many people will have read it but it might be worth checking whether the space you parked in comes under the free ones incase they are pulling a fast one.
