Rim size question

Featured Replies

Hi

This is probably a silly question but since I am looking for some second hand alloys for the winter tyres. Using the steels I bought last year for that robocop look ;) I have 5 x 112.0 x 57.

I know that 5 x 112 on a rim size is stud number and circle diameter of the centres of the studs, but what is the third number (57). Is this the off/inset?

I've looked at the 'Bible' web page but must be having a thick moment. I am looking to fit Winter Contact 850 195/65/15 Rs

Thanks

Matt

I think the 57 is probably the centre diameter.

What you need for tyres is the wheel size, not the mounting size.

This will be something like 6.5x15ET42 where 6.5 is the rim width in inches, 15 the wheel bead diameter in inches, and ET42 denotes a 42mm offset from the mounting face to the centreline of the tread.
