Eibach Pro-Kit Spring Kit Octavia VRS 5E Estate 2012 on

Featured Replies

Look forward to pics guys, Ive Eibach springs but they don't lower as much as the HR so will be interesting to see difference.

This pic is from Eibach, with lowering springs fitted.

Please take notice that H&R and Eibach both very often offers two types of lowering springs to Golf-plat formed vehicles. One is gentle lowering (20~30mm typically), the other is medium lowering (35~50mm typically). So when discussing photos or experiences, make sure to mention pro-kit vs sport line etc. Eibach and H&R are both German top quality manufacturers in my eyes, and H&R has some good spacers of different types, all hub centric as far as I know.

Hi all,

don't mean to hijack the thread but is there any known option for lowering springs for the 2.0TDI 4x4?

Thanks for any hint,

Stefano

Sure, check out catalogues at www.eibach.de or www.h-r.de

  • Because a high car looks like ****. if i want a high car i would buy a Land rover. Have NEVER had a car without Lowering and big Wheels. when i get around 87 years i will consider driving on Stock sus

  • No spacers wheelsize is 8,5x19 and ET is 40 tiresize is 225/35-19 and it fits like a glove, nothing sticks out    The wheel is Concave maybe thats why you think it looks like i have spacers on

Thank you,

H&R has an option (28833-3), while Eibach strangely (at least to me) seems not offering an option.

I'm tempted but a bit shy of the 40mm promised lowering which I fear it might be a bit too aggressive.

I would recommend the following:
- if car is supplied with OEM sport suspension, the medium drop Eibach or H&R are fine - of course the same goes for the mild drop Eibach or H&R.

- if car is supplied with normal suspension, the mild drop Eibach or H&R.

- if car has worn dampers, I would be hesitative to run medium drop anything without considering a new set of dampers. Mild drop may go fine.

As a side note, Eibach + Bilstein package is GOLDEN in my eyes!

Nooo. H&R also has 28795-1 that lowers 25mm. On an already heightened 4x4, I'd go 40mm of the two, no time.

Maybe I read it wrong.

Either way, a 40mm drop ends like OEM sport suspension - not the worst, but maybe not ideal if dampers are taller on 4x4

That's why I'd rather consider a set of Eibach -25mm, or - on the other side - just go for a full set of adjustable coilovers (here, maybe Eibach again).

I have been looking for finding some photos of the Octavia 3 non-RS on Eibach springs, to get an impression on how that will be.

Finally, there seems to be some things popping up in Google.

Eibach pro-kit:

Doesn't say, but I suspect pro-kit here aswell:

I need to compare these with my own car on 18s and sport suspension. If you ask me, the Eibach pro-kit looks about just right for everyday usage and driving progressiveness.

(I LOVED my pro-kit on the Golf mk2!)

ok i'm poss being dense here but any clues on the 2 choices in the weblink as above?

english translated bits -

Only for vehicles with torsion beam at the rear axle without wheel

H&R Tieferlegungsfedern Skoda Octavia RS 5E VA 25 / HA 25 28833-2

Load and only for vehicles with multi-link rear axle

I didn´t saw the second link, and order the first one to my VRS

Since the part number is the same for both, anybody knows if both springs fits the VRS?

Otherwise i will have to ask for a change

Latter is for light weight cars and I assume the configuration at rear suspension is quite different with torsion beam versus independednt linkage, sorry.

The springs are the same in this case (H&R).

Already fitted!

Just been on the phone with eibach. The prokit listed for octy vrs hatch has been superceded by a kit that only gives a 10mm drop all round now. The prokit listed was golf based where as now it is made for the octy which is a heavier car. The sportline kit gives a 30 mm drop all round. Worried it could be a little crashy with 19" extremes. Not keen on H&R springs harsh and coils rattled together on rough b class roads(not potholes before anyone says it). 45mm drop mk2 octy vrs diesel
