MDI CABLE

Featured Replies

Any 1 using 1 of these on there fabia vrs i got a genuine 1 with usb and it doesnt seem to work with any ipods, iphones or android phones. it charges the devices but no media interface can be found, i thought as soon as u plugged in it let u play your music through it,

I use the ipod connection mdi on my vrs, the USB one doesn't work with my ipod only a hard drive/memory stick. Hope that helps

I have Both... USB cable for my 32Gb Stick, and iPod cable for my 8Gb Nano Gen3.

For an Android or Windows Phone you need the Micro-USB cable. iPhone uses the iPod Cable (iPhone 5 would probly need a further adapter!)

they're about £20 from you dealership!

You need the iPod lead.

The USB one won't work with an iPod. I think the USB one will only work with a device that shows itself as a FAT32 device.

Eg a portable hard drive or USB stick.

For any apple device with the lightning connector you will need the 30 pin adapter as a VAG cable does not yet exist. There is also some concern that 3rd party adapters may not work with ios 7 but I can not confirm this.

Don't know if the cables are £20 anymore. The octavia brochure lists them as £50, even the dealer had a shock when he saw that.

I payed £18 for the USB cable about 10 weeks ago (my GL-II came with the iPod one) from Fish Brothers here in Swindon, Didn't realise they'd more than doubled in price in that time!!  :o

Great, About to buy one of these, before I do I note they do not list the Skoda range and I guess ours is the same (VAG).  This will work and connect to my i PAD 3 ?

ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE CONNECTED AND USED AN I PAD VIA THE MDI and the results please ?
